I would support this, Blizzard has done it for years with Blizzcon.

I would support something like this since I already missed the event for the Shantotto, DQ Golem and Little Laidies doll minions. But chances are it ain't gonna happen![]()
I think the thought is that fluff items (vanity gear, minions, etc) should be obtainable in game since we pay a monthly fee to play. What would stop them from adding a bunch of items to mogstation vs. releasing them as in-game items if they find people are willing to shell out money?
And don't get me wrong, I am fine with companies making money, and cash shops in free to play games, I just think it should be avoided in a P2P game. Now.....would I buy the items? Probably, because I have no shame. Kinda like retainers. I do think those should have been attainable via in-game options, but I am loving the extra storage.

Did they even stated what the items were...? If it is minions/mounts I would flip if they don't sell them virtually.
Consider there were other events that had minions (like the ones i mentioned above) it's pretty likely that it will be minions, mounts or (if i'm lucky) glamors like an ingame T-shirt that says (I attended the Final Fantasy XIV fanfest and all I got was this lousy T-shirt).
But this is based on precident form crossover and holiday events. Im not sure if there were any preceding Fanfests (and if there's any in California)
Those 3 minions were in game event. I thought the Fan festival was a real life thing that gave out exclusive prizes and stuff. (Which I was asking if they mentioned any exclusive items yet)Consider there were other events that had minions (like the ones i mentioned above) it's pretty likely that it will be minions, mounts or (if i'm lucky) glamors like an ingame T-shirt that says (I attended the Final Fantasy XIV fanfest and all I got was this lousy T-shirt).

I support this. I always missed out on all of the fan fests for FFXI and they had a bunch of exclusive moogle themed items that I wish I could have had.
That's the point of them being exclusive. They don't want to give them to every person who throws them ten or twenty bucks. An MMO where everyone can get everything, be it due to ease of content, or being able to just buy the things you missed, is not a good thing. People like to stand out from others, some more so than others.

As I live in Aussieland, it would cost literally thousands of dollars to go to any English speaking fanfest event (since we're the rear end of the world, they don't do fan things here). Even if I had to save up and pay $500 for someone else to go in my stead, it'd still be cheaper but I'm not sure if the person going can specify other people's characters for the in game items and anyone willing to go would likely be too big a fan of the game to want to give up their goodies. There just aren't a lot of options for people living outside the hubs of the world...
I'd definitely welcome the ability to buy a virtual ticket to these events!
