Any chance that the fanfest ingame items will be sold on mogstation?

You've been here since 2011, meaning you more than likely played FFXI - Did you remember how Vanafest/FanFests had exclusive items as well..? And how they hardly affected gameplay in any fashion?

Weren't those items mainly special trials where you fought NPCs you wouldn't normally fight? If that's the case, I wouldn't really care, especially if you could invite friends into the battles with you. Lately however, all of the perks for pre-orders and CEs and soundtracks are bonus in game items that can be worn around and shown off at all times.

If it's the former, I won't be upset so much. If it's the latter then that is what would bother me.

I mean, what would bother you personally? What if it was some exclusive white Magitek armor mount or some really awesome cosmetic outfit? Those are the things I am worried about.

Something that gives the player an in game advantage, that cannot be obtained in any other way. The things that you describe wouldn't bother me in the slightest if I couldn't get them because I couldn't go.

You go car shopping and a dealership has a promotion going on where if you buy a new car you get a free vacation to the Bahamas. Your budget doesn't allow you to buy a brand new car, you can only afford the $3000 used car on the back lot. Are you still entitled to the vacation? Should they provide you with a "free" vacation if you can't buy that new car but can afford to pay for the plane ticket?

RL items =/= In game items. I am not paying a monthly subscription to this car dealership.

One comment I will make on the whole "it's purely cosmetic, it offers no in game benefit" is that everyone plays this game in a different way. Everyone has their own focus. With the personal housing system on the horizon, you can damn well bet there will be people who focus on that content over everything else. Not everyone raids or cares about raiding. Not everyone cares about doing the most damage to a boss. Some people like furnishing their house, some people like collecting pets and achievements, and some people like dressing their characters in cool new outfits everyday.

My point is that for those people that care about these things more than you do, locking these items to an expensive real-life event is unfair.

I'll just accept your opinions and call it, i'm tired, w/e happens is up to SE, the thread is here and the concerns have been exposed. I'll start saving money for the next year.

That defeats the whole purpose of them being exclusive then. And it doesn't matter what example I used to relate to the situation, it was an example...you know...to illustrate a point.

I bet a good portion of these people who are saying it's unfair are the kids in school who got given a trophy regardless of how they performed, because everyone should be identical after all.

Actually, it does matter what example you use because the one you used really doesn't relate to the current topic. A free vacation to the Bahamas? Even if I weren't able to afford the car I would still have the option to go to the Bahamas at any time. The perk for going to this event is only from this event. So uhh I guess we're asking SE to sell vacations to the Bahamas...?

I knew you would do that, i have deleted 2 chars from 1.0 and i only paid 2 of the 3 moths needed to be legacy, but i'll go even further, i was one of the original 7000 alpha testers who joined in the very first wave, i'm one of the oldest players of this game, not more experienced, just old lol.

I never considered legacy worth it, so you can see how much i care about exclusivity.

I actually looked at a different page and saw you did actually play. But either way it was originally a joke to someone telling me to go back to a different game.

Exactly! See, was that so hard to understand? Limited time event, special perk for taking part in said event. The perk for taking part should NOT be available to everyone. Only those that are able to attend. It doesn't matter if it's an in-game item or an all expense paid vacation, it's an incentive to take part. So while you might be able to afford to go to the Bahamas (or where ever else you choose) whenever you want, it's not the reward for taking part in the event.

These are the types of items that they give out. It's hardly worth getting so bent and demanding they sell it on the Mog Station.
