I just read through all the patch notes and there is no bard nerf or any adjustment to bards whatsoever, so I don't know wtf you're talking about op. Also have no idea what you mean by delayed procs on controller, smells like bs to me. I use ps4 and experience no such thing. What a pointless whining thread with not even a semblance of a basis of what you're whining about.

In 2.1 they were basically nerfed by 10-15% because the cross-class skills were nerfed and Rain of Death use to reduce damage but it now lowers target's evasion...

Wow, 3 pages already on this thread, clearly the OP is just pulling your legs guys. Bard didn't even get nerfed and it's pretty much the easiest job to play with controller. Look outside the box and stop feeding this guy.

The sad part is people come up here ready to prove a point but usually miss the point... Keep calm and pay attention....

You say you have trouble moving and DPSing on a BRD with a controller.
Then you say you're good at BRD.
    Confusing.

The sad part is people come up here to type out sentences that doesn't make sense, talking about past changes while comparing them to upcoming changes while being vague and expect everyone to see their point... Keep calm and illustrate your opinions better...

If you are playing BRD in the mindset that you need to be doing the most DPS you are playing BRD wrong.
These changes did not make up a loss of 10-15% damage, over the course of a full fight they made only a few percent at most. The most significant impact on this change was that it lowered BRDs burst DPS in burn phases.
The Rain of Death change was unfortunate, but there are only a small handful of occasions in which it was useful, speed runs being the most obvious situation. In a real end game scenario there was no way you would be using Rain of Death to help the tanks because of its huge TP cost.

The changes that came during 2.1 were at a time where BRD was considered the very overpowered because of its utility as well as its ability to deal damage in very movement heavy encounters (and at the time of 2.1 almost every fight was movement heavy). The changes put BRD on par with every other DPS, and now while BRD does less DPS naturally than say, a MNK or a SMN, they have far more utility, which makes up for the reduced DPS in terms of usefulness to a party.

You are not a pure DPS job. You are a Support-DPS. If you want to win in DPS, go play another job.

I used rain of death all the time in 2.0 in Turns 1 and 4. Tanks would ask me to always have it up.

And no, bard is a dps job with support as back up. 90% dps, 10% support. The support side is only when needed. How good the party is, the less they have to rely on bard's support to bail them out. The majority of the time, bard will be focusing entirely on dps while singing foe to boost caster dps.
