Not a team player I see? This is why the world gets worse every day, "me me me" attitude. Don't join just any random FC, get to know the people, set ranks on who can even create a personal room. People should prove themselves to not be a selfish monster/troll before being allowed to participate. They are trying to foster a feeling of community and people working together with a shared purpose of accomplishing group and separate goals, but together as a team.
People also need to quit speculating, I'm certain many of these things will be available when personal housing comes out but don't give up on the community before they have a chance to try and make it happen.
Just your friendly neighborhood elezen
Because people never change, or quit the game, or disagree over anything in the history of interactions between more than one person. Not a team player I see? I'm sure no-one in this game or any other involving a guild type system has ever had a problem with anyone ever and the FC kick function is a myth that has never has never been used in any FC period.
I agree that being able to set the permission via FC ranks will help with this but simply asking whether or not we'll be able to remove players from an FC after they have bought a room is a very important question

I think its pretty much a given that SE hasnt put one ounce of thought into any of these concerns, otherwise they'd of stated the "conditions" around kicking or moving FC's when these private rooms were announced.
So, like most things they rush out the door, they'll notice a problem when the forum explodes and rush to put in a "fix" that will be half-moogled at best and only cause more problems.
- "Ok, so we dont have personal housing up to snuff yet, what can we do in the meantime to appease people?"
- "How about private rooms in the FC houses? We can even charge for it and add another Gil sink to the game that way!"
- "Excellent!!! Are there any concerns with that that may cause problems down the road?"
<crickets chirping>
- "Great! Code it!"
Me? I'm holding out for personal housing. FC's change/evolve/implode far too often for me to risk setting up a nice room only to lose it because someone decides to quit the game or disband the FC or something.

Afaik we can kick them out but we need wait a successive patch.
You see it as not being a "team player" - I see it as having "personal responsibility".
I have done 100% of the research, experimenting, time, and work in my FC's garden not to mention keeping detailed logs of what we have produced and all transactions. Yet, I would feel EXTREMELY guilty reaping any of the rewards. I put all of it in the bank, because it's the FC's and not really "mine" even though I did the work. If I was gardening in my own room, it would be different. But throw this "company" tag onto it, and it becomes Corporate America: The FFXIV Edition and honestly - I hate it. I really just hate it.
I want to get a personal room and I would *like* for it to be in the FC house because I do love my FC... But I should be able to leave the FC when I want, and the leaders should be able to kick me if they so choose.
SE is REALLY on the wrong side of things with these issues. We need a dev response and some clarification, because this is starting to turn into a pretty terrible feature overall and it was SUPPOSED to be BETTER than guilds in other games.

Let's not let this get buried.
They visited this thread already. How do I know? They deleted one of my posts lol

To leave a FC you have to remove all furniture and Vacate it. If you get kicked it would make sense to just move all furniture to a NPC like the calamity salvager. I would also hope to assume that since they state its never going to be refunded you would get some kind of key item allowing you to start a new private room in a new FC house.
I am hoping to see some sort of response or clarification in patch notes on this one as I think it's quite an important topic.

This doesn't always work, I know this personally... FC's/Groups can take time to get to know potential players, hoping they will be good members. But people change. People have their own reasons and wants that could be good or bad. Maybe they are putting on a sweet mask because they want to get in only to get stuff for themselves and not to help others. No one can 100% assure that the person they got to know will always be that same person. I've seen nice helpful people turn into players that only care about themselves and getting what they want.
While I agree it's always good to get to know potential members, people make mistakes on both sides. If housing honestly does block people from being kicked, SE is taking away leaders rights to take care and run their groups by forcing FC's to keep people because they have a private room and can't be kicked.
Now hopefully this isn't the case and it was just misreported. But it should be clarified for FC leader's piece of mind.
I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.
