I'm rather new to MMO's in general, and did my first LoA run over the weekend. It was a very good group, and we cleared it the first time through. Was a ton of fun to be running around with that many folks, even if I didn't really have a clue what I was doing (other than pew-pew).

If you run into the wall it teleports you to beginning of the room since your not supposed to be behind it.

My most fun I've had is starting my first alt character and experiencing the game again. Level 21 Marauder and lots of work to do!

I know that feeling well! Got sick of primal farming so rolled a new character (8 now it's an addiction....) is always nice to see the game through fresh eyes, and then you miss your choco and level up faster lol

I was dancing in my underwear outside our FC house one time right before I was about to run Moogle Ex. Forgot to put my gear back on, so turned up to the fight with no pants or body pieces on. "That's cool", you think. But then when I tried to put my armour back on I couldn't. Had to do the fight basically naked. I was pretty proud that of the 3 bards, I was the last to die.

My FC tanks thought it was hilarious, but my healer didn't agree :P

Was running Ultima HM on my SMN, and was the last one alive. I did a swift+raise on the WHM (after which I promptly died), who then did a 3-bar limit break to bring everyone back. We then proceeded to beat the trial. Such fun!

I ran Castrum Meridianum the other day with my i99 DRG. Both tanks were first timers and had no idea what to do. I ended up taking the lead and having them follow me.

They utterly failed at the MT/ OT roles and we wiped twice on the second boss. Everyone was about to abandon ship but I offered to tank. I had the highest HP at 5k something while the tanks were both in the 3 thousands.

People laughed and said they would shocked if it worked.

So I swapped Skull Sunder to my hotbar and we beat the vanguard boss. I pulled the mobs to the cannons each time, tanked all the bosses and we beat the duty.
It was really fun being a DRG tank and proving to the party it could be done. I got 5 commendations afterwards (the tanks were watching the cutscene so I didn't wait around for their possible commendations). It was my favorite run so far.

Odin spawned on top of my head...

no kidding... I was in Larkscall in the middle of nowhere, sort of AFK but was still watching the screen because I was snacking and there he was! I thought it was some random mob but took me a whole 2 min to realize it was Odin! and no one was around yet, so I had him for a good few min to myself, just checking him out, checking out his horse... /poked at him a few times before the whole server showed up.

Cool story! I had something similar happen. I queued for my daily Expert roulette and got Lost City (of course...). Group was progressing just fine and then the tank DC'd right at the gate to the first boss. We waited around for him for 5 mins, then party agreed to kick him. Then we waited another 5 minutes for a replacement, and it didn't happen. So I just said, hey I'm i98 (at the time) I can just try and tank this boss. I ended up tanking the rest of the dungeon except for Diabolos (a tank FINALLY queued in progress as we were approaching the final magical stairway -.- ).

I complemented the healer for being able to keep me up and then the healer said "yeah, but you did a great job holding hate from mobs as a DPS I was healing alot!"

Made me feel awesome about the whole situation haha. Those first 2 bosses from Lost City are pretty cake for a DPS (especially a ranged one) to tank if your high ilvl. It was harder going through the trash mobs because there were multiple and holding hate on them as the healer is spamming Cures was no easy task! But very fun!!

I'm going to share three moments: one of which happened last night.

    1. I was starting off, leveling as Lancer/Dragoon before I made the switch to Black Mage. I queued for Haukke Manor as I was at that part of the story. The wait time was really awful back then, but it finally pops. We progress along and get to Lady Amanadine. With just a sliver of health left, the tank and other dps dies and the tank calls for a wipe. But I didn't want to wipe just yet, and figured the healer and I were going to die soon anyway. Well, the healer was able to keep me up, I limit break and was able to down the boss. Even the tank was surprised. If commendations were around then, I suspect that I probably would have received at least one.

    2. Last night I que up for Pharos Sirius. It was my first time, but I had watched a couple of videos before queing up to refresh my memory of what to expect. The tank mentions that they are not familiar with tanking the dungeon and gives us the option to drop and re-que. Being DPS, I didn't want to wait 30 minutes before doing so. When noone leaves the tank goes "I warned you." We progress very well in the dungeon, wiping only once and that was on the first boss. Though I don't remember if I got to compliment the tank that they did pretty well for not being familiar with tanking the dungeon.

    3. My first time doing Gilgamesh. I wasn't the only first-timer either. Someone asks if there is anything that they should know about. While one person says "Don't say anything" I mention that if they get turned into a toad that they should kite the chicken chasing them. After I got done with Gilgamesh, I was grinning from ear to ear. It's one trial that I enjoy doing.

I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.

Did my Trial Roulette on BLM today which despite being just short of being i100, was the first time I'd tried any level 50 content on it (SMN gear if you was wondering.) I got Ifrit and proceeded to probably give my worst ever performance in a Primal. My limit break didn't hit until the nails were already gone, my rotation was all over the place, and I managed to die about three times. All while my less than impressed team were roaring in the chat "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" Despite being so terrible, I just couldn't help but laugh at how nooby I seemed and eventually just sat there having a laughing fit while they finished the duty with me unconscious.
