Silence! That is incorrect! The players fault? MADNESS

I agree 100%, it's not the MW or SE fault. If people who sell really wanted to make a difference they would set up their retainer in LL or Gridania.

The MW might not be the best solution, but the concept would work if poeple didn't concentrate that much in Ul'dah.

SE should have made it massively convenient to travel from city to city then. a game developer has to understand how their playerbase works if they want to manipulate them. they obviously dont know how their playerbase works when it comes to traveling and the economy..... my evidence? everyones at Uldah because of its convenience and filling up rooms with zombies.
if there was an auction house, there wouldnt be so many limitaions.

its not the conviniance its because its expected that everyone exploits BW leves, which will be changing. and another reason which is to do with conviniance is the main scenario quests, but thats only till your first r46, if you do them right away.

So the only long term reason is for BW leves, which will be nerfed in 1.18 conviniance has little to do with ppl congrigating in uldah.

Actually you're wrong. BW leves are only why people congregate in Ul'dah. You'll see how wrong you are after the leve changes when BW stops being over powered compared to the rest.

Everyone puts their retainers in the same area because no one wants to have to check three different cities to compare prices. They want to do one search and look at all the items on the server. Not three searches. How annoying would that be? The only way to make the other cities viable trading places is to integrate all the searches.

I wouldn't say that BW is the only reason though it is a factor for sure. I think many people go because it is central between the other 2 cities and also the layout of the city keeps the important NPC's and places close together which is another huge bonus.

Well, yes. We still need some other methods of transportation, that would help greatly.
What I'm trying to get at is that if people who sell really wanted to make a difference they would sacrifice a little time and set up their retainers in LL or Gridania. Perhaps, I'll take more time to sell them but at least they can contribute to the de-population of Ul'dah.
