If they made Gridania into a forest like Sanctuary of Zi'tah I would be very happy. Loved that zone.

I like the greenery of Gridania. Its the reason why i wanna pick it come ps3. Makes me think of an enchanting Irish forest. That i'm used to it (the boyahda tree) Also makes me think of Zelda's Lost forest. Anything but Ronfaure or jugnar forest or the 2 Kazam jungles. I hated those zones.
YES, THIS I WOULD LOVE. (cap for hyperness) I loved how mystical this zone was and the music was just right. I loved walking over fallen tree bridges and see the crystal infused springs.
Maybe add a river and manaclipper for fishing/tours. I loved the bibiki bay tours and seeing the dolphins.
If they make gridania to a HD version of sanctuary of zi'tah hell ya i go there everyday
Here a issue for you all would they make new songs for the new zone? and give him more time to make the songs for the zones? Nobuo Uematsu only saw pic of the zone and did not have much time to make the songs but if you see the new version of the song youtube i love them if they can redo the songs for the new reskin and give Nobuo Uematsu more time then i would love it.
well the areas is too big in ffxiv i prefer if they cut them for more zones so we dont get bored with 5 zones game
they will add more zones. eorzea and vanadiel (at launch) are the same size. A lot of zones was added in Rise of zilart. Koro tunnel, the desert, kazam, the temple, the valcano, sky, norg. I like the huge zones actually. It makes the world feel bigger. Vana'diel feels small cuz of the size of the zones. Plus they do plan on adding more stuff in the world.
I am for changing Coerthas. I'll agree it is a very pretty zone with nice scenery but the actual layout of the map is really bad and it still has lots of blatant copy/paste.
The three starter zones are the ones in true desperate need of changes though.
Yay, I'm all for this. I don't ever go to Gridania and the Black Shroud EVER, except to use up my guild marks. If it gets changed up maybe I'll go adventuring there!
Wait, really? Have you played other Final Fantasy games? This is one of the attractions of Final Fantasy. Each one does pretty much "reinvent the wheel". A few themes are common between games such as chocobos and job types but each Final Fantasy gives SE the chance to release a new battle system, a new world, etc.Stop trying so hard to be different! Take the good things you learned from FFXI and bring it to FFXIV. I am the last saying we need a FFXI-2 but why trying to invent the wheel if you had 10 years to learn from FFXI?
1: Delete Gridannia
2: Look at The Sanctuary of Zi'tah
3: Make the Maze like layout "bigger" with wider paths and big open areas.
I can see that they tried to make it look like Zi'tah but they totally missed the atmosphere that the original has.
If you loved the FFXI world so much, then you should probably go back to it. This being a new instalment in Final Fantasy means things will be different. This doesn't mean FFXIV needs to stay as it is now, but it gives us the chance to explore something new.
This does not excuse the game's zones at all. People complain because it doesn't live up to the standards that FFXI set in place, not because it isn't LIKE FFXI.Wait, really?
