Skill is aquired with time and repetition, I usually assume healers that aren't up to snuff are newer and just be extra careful in how I play.
They'll get there if the community doesn't drive them off first.![]()
The problem with that is that you both might wind up overhealing the same target. It's like the DPS that starts to spam Physik as soon as they lose one HP, or the tank that casts stoneskin on himself. Through communication, you can come up with a plan for both healers, and everyone can focus on their job while trusting the rest of the team to also do their jobs. If for some reason they can't handle it, try to help them, or adjust the plan.
Of course we adjust accordingly.
If my healing partner is decent too I often see a minimal sense of understanding and chemistry even without communication. Same thing happens when I run coil 1 via DF. Maybe a bit of desync at the start but as long as both are good eventually we automatically sync up and cover each other if need be.
But if your partner is bad.. just pretend he/she's dead. Most of the time, if they are bad, they are (dead)![]()
I like super star healers, they make my life so much easier.
Prime example
Place : King Behemot in CT
Prima Donna Healer : I will heal the tank on KB you dont need to worry about that
Me : ok no problem
End-result : healer and tank dead even before the first GRRRRRRAAHHH of KB
consequence : healer left and I had to solo heal that section
Therefore..............................................even commnication isnt the answer to everything *lol*

As a main healer it kind of sucks to say the only real way to tell is to ask the healers themselves. Majority of the time the tanks can't even tell. It is always the more skilled healer who can tell and unless they are vocal about it no one ever knows really. I will say I alway run with the same tanks and I will tell them if I have issues with other healers coming into party for certain fights. I am at the point though that I simply do not care for 99% of the fight because a healer that simply stays alive and throws out some heals is good enough for the win despite how much harder I might have to work
Lol you can tell who is the healer being carried depending on the duty.
E.g you see the stoneskinner healing as well, only casting AOE after first tidal hits, lack of regens on tanks, and melded during certain periods, lack of mitigation I can go on but you get the idea
If a ranking system ever came in,
Dps, heals and mitigation need to be counted, also extra dmg caused by debuffs eg foe req, dragon kick. If a player is going to reduce their damage for the benefit of the party they need recognition as well if it's being given
