ATMA: the worst thing ever made on A Realm Reborn

For all of you people complaining about ATMA drops, wait until you have to start standing around for 8 hours for a particular FATE to spawn to complete a book. At least with ATMA grinding, you are doing something.

I did wait over 8hours for a book FATE, for myself,
I am sure it was very sweet when compare with farming 8hours (even 4hr)atma with no drop... ^^;
Bcoz I can do many things in real life while waiting (ie. play my mobile), I just needed to pay attention to the FATE pop sound.

Congrats you're one of the lucky few who seem to have no trouble with Atma. People like me on the other hand have been trying to get just ONE Atma weapon since 2.2 dropped. 4 hours grinding today so far and still nothing to show for it.

This doesn't matter. I have my Zenith glamoured and I've gotten 6 Atma.

You seem so sure. You could be wrong. I'm asking the person who has 0. And though i know you -can- obtain atma i'm curious if somehow there is a bug that sometimes after completing a FATE you have 0% chance of getting one, and other times the normal percentile.

Its a possibility so, again, i'm asking the person who has 0 Atma.

IF helps, I've been doing random fates when I'm doing my beast dailies since beggining, and I got my first atma last week. So yeah, taking it slow does not mean the 'random luck' is better than grinding non-stop.

I already gave up and I have more hopes of going T7-9 and getting high allagan bow than actually getting animus crap.

I have 4, and I've done about 6 fates with the Zenith. I don't fate farm, because I've been trying to level a WHM, GLA, and MRD. In the words of a wise woman, "Ain't nobody got time for that." I figure my odds at the drop have been the same, and I feel like I'm getting something done. Since I got my first Zenith as a BRD, I got a WHM Zenith weapon, had some hard lessons as a tank, and had a little fun learning to mine. I can see how people would get bored if all they did was to farm the same fates over and over.

I didn't think it is the time commitment that is the problem, rather ATMA is 100% pointless and boring.
I'd rather just give SE $15 and say give me a better weapon than to have to actually sit in front of this game that long doing absolutely nothing fun or even remotely entertaining, while my eyes bleed out of my skull and I start having thoughts of murdering the man who came up with the ATMA idea.

It really feels like the developers are screaming WE HATE YOU, GO AWAY, STOP PLAYING THIS AWFUL GAME!

...So I did, lol.
At least for that part. I wouldn't touch ATMA with a 50 million mile pole, and every time I see someone who has one the only thing I can think of is, that person must be the saddest person in their state and have zero life outside this game.

That's just honesty there, hate me if you want, but... I'm just being honest.

I have 7 ATMA. I've farmed twice, never got one. Just doing fates that popped up when I'm standing there is what works for me.

I started on my atma the other day, did fates for a couple hours and got a couple of them. Then I had to go on vacation so I havn't been able to put much time into it. But so far so good.

That said, there really should be something to prevent people from getting extremely unlucky on this. Having it be a long and daunting process is fine, however with no progress being shown potentially for hours, how does that player even know for sure if they are not bugged in some way and wasting their time? Some RNG is fine, getting lucky is fine, but getting extremely unlucky and wasting weeks for nothing is not.

Fixing it is simple, use the shard method. Keep the atma drops as they are, keep the rng, but add a high drop rate shard (like 80%? chance), assemble 100? shards into an atma, turn in extra shards for some seals, or keep for making more weapons.

That ensures the player knows the system is working, and that ultimately, while they may be getting unlucky, they are making progress.
