Anyone else tried FFXIV with EYEFINITY?

I can play on max settings on 1 monitor with a resolution of 1680X1050 no problem. But when i use EYEFINITY with either landscape mode 5204X1200 or in Portrait mode 3416X1680, my PC will crash after a couple of minutes.

And when i mean crash, it shuts down completely and i have to swtich off the PSU before i can turn it back on. No other games will do that to my PC no matter how long i play. I tried over a dozen of games and only FFXIV has that effect.

Also if i force AA through ATI control center, as soon as FFXIV will start into the game it will make my PC crash right away.

    Anyone else having this issue?

Devs, did you guys test eyefinity? you're games has gold support for it and if this is a bug, you guys better fix it soon before you kill everyone's PCs.

Maybe you should check the temperature of your GPU and PSU while playing. 'Cause this sounds like another temperature problem (typical for FFXIV on high settings).

I would love to check the temp while playing, i just have to alt-tab right? Oh wait we can't cuz SE doesn't us to do so.... thx a lot SE!

guess i'll try the windowed mode hack thing and see if my temp will raise too much. But i doubt that's it because while gaming with any other game on max settings it goes around 80C and a GPU will run passed 100C and be fine.

Plus i don't get why forcing AA through ATI control center will bring the same result but it does it as soon as i open the game so it looks to me like a major bug somewhere. I would really like for SE to look into this...

Forcing stuff through CC is a bit hacky as it changes the game's code. There should be tools that show the temperature inside of d3d games or write them into a file. Having over 100°C is already pretty much. More than 110°C will definately cause your video memory to produce errors (even if the gpu spec goes higher). GPUs that have an overheating normally disable the system or cause a BSOD.
And FFXIV definately causes more heat and heat problems than all other games I know xD

    I do use eyefinity

As for why yours doesn't work, I also think heat is an issue for your prolonged session with a shutdown.

Try it windowed, and turn down the settings.

download a program like hwmonitor(or any program that logs comp temp), let it run in the background, run ffxiv for 5-10mins if you can, once done, check ur max temps.

anything over 85-90 is bad, especially over long periods of time

im usually around 80 so its not too bad. i ran eyefinity just to test it and even on the lowest settings, which was still pretty high res, it was really sluggish. not worth until the next gen of gpus, or whenever the price of the 6990s go down

So if it does overheat, what do i do? I lower the settings? this is getting quite annoying.... you would thing a 6990 would be enough to play things game.
