The Caster and Healing sets from CT1 were also the same just different colors. Is that really all the gear from CT2? In CT1 there were 6 seperate sets (tank, healer, caster, drg, monk, bard), and there'd probably be a 7th with ninja coming. In that image I see 4 and a half sets. Two of the characters are wearing the exact same gear, and 2 others are wearing the same set in different colours.
i don't like it, simply because i don't like how it looks (nor do i like the idea of running around as a boss mob.)
they did a good job on it, but i would have been happier with something else.
Hmm maybe the boss looking ones are just for glamour?
Let's see... from left to right:
Xande-inspired Monk Gear
Scylla-inspired Healer Gear
Acheron-inspired Tank/Dragoon Gear
Amon-inspired Bard Gear
Scylla-inspired Caster Gear
Same Acheron-inspired Tank/Dragoon Gear
Am I getting this right?
Close, but wrong. Remember SE = LAZY so obvious solution is to make mnk/drg healer/caster sets same but slightly different color.
Far left (xande) = Tank
2nd syclla = healer
3rd acheron = monk (gold trim)
4th amon = brd
5th syclla = caster
6th acheron = drg (silver trim)
I think the far left set is the MNK/NIN set and based on Acheron.
What you have ided as the Tank/Dragoon set is likely based on the FF3 enemy/boss General/Dark General. The helm is the same even if the skin color is different.
Xande wore robes not armor.
Well regardless, as the trend has shown in the image alone that gear set has to be tank gear. Otherwise it wouldn't add up with things like... mnk/drg coil gear looking the same but different color. Why would SE suddenly make drg look like a tank gear wise, it doesn't fit. Chalk this up to that allagan bio-metal crap where mnk/drg allagan sets look like some weird metal/leather crossbreed.
If whatever you're shooting doesn't die after you pump 8, 32 caliber, slugs into it, it's probably a dragon.
Yeah on closer inspection I'm more inclined to this. Plus Acheron wields a sword in CT1, and casts black magic but that a different debate altogether. Also was it confirmed that CT2 will be 3 tanks, 6 healers and 15 dps? I remember a screen where that was the queue for CT2 during the e3 live show but I wasn't sure if it was for development purposes or if it is finalized.
Edit: isn't Xande set what the lalafell and hyur are wearing?
far left (Acheron)

The Monk/Dragoon are not wearing Xande. If you watch the trailer again you will see an Acheron-sized guy in that armor getting punchy with some adventurers. Further, Labyrinth did not have more armor sets. As mentioned, the casters shared the same set. The difference between the sets is the Bard/Monk/Dragoon sets. In Labyrinth Bard and Dragoon shared a set where here it's Dragoon and Monk.
