New ct gear doesnt look that impressive.. Looks wise that is.

Because I totally get Sands first as Healer or Tank. It totally doesn't always go to DPS first, right?
Oh wait, it DOES ALWAYS go to DPS first.
So Healers and Tanks are sitting there a few weeks/months without sand ;o
CT1 is a troll heaven. hope CT2 is not going to be the same
Apparently, There are rules in your team but it's not our fault![]()

Maybe one day they'll come up with original gear designs and enemies instead of more recolors, you'd think they'd have the funds by now to do that but apparently not yet.
If sand isn't going to DPS first, then you're doing something wrong in terms of T9 progression, honestly.
So if sands (and oil) were only Coil, Healers and Tanks would be screwed. Especially Scholars :P (being a White Mage... I don't particularly care)

......Were you not around in 2.1? They FKED CT completely since day 1. It will always be worthless for anyone who actually raids.
Q: What's the drop rate for the unidentified Allagan tomestone, the sands of time, and oil of time?
A: As I mentioned during the previous Letter from the Producer LIVE, they will not all be dropping at the same time. We'll add them gradually as we progress through patches. We're planning to have unidentified Allagan tomestones drop first, and the drop rate will be about 30%. We'll be making adjustments based on the clear rate of the Second Coil of Bahamut and everyone's average item level.
So basically there is no incentive (for your main job) for someone with an animus weapon and fully soldiery equipped to go in the crystal tower until they add the sand of time in the loot table.
OPs message boils down to.."It's useless for me so it's terrible."
You aren't the only person playing.
Also to answer your question.
A) i100 gear offers possibilities for side grades with better itemization.
B) Glamor
C) Not everyone runs coil so most people can't get the tomestone through any other method.
D) Myth and Soldiery
E) Gil
F) Fun

Not OP but the statement is true. Doesn't mean your statement isn't also true.
Releasing lower tier content MONTHS after higher tier content is bad design. Can't argue it.
If they wanted CT to be the casual friendly high end content they should have released it at the same time or before Coil.
Instead you get the raiders who don't need CT except to play alts. And the casuals who are left with nothing to do for months at a time (between Coil and Ct release) since that time period the old CT is below even group gear (soldiery in this case).
If they released in the right order or at the same time. Raiders would do CT early on to get upgrades while working on coil (since due to soldiery weekly cap it would allow them to upgrade to ilvl 100 faster) and casuals would feel like they have "high end" content available to them.

I'm still pissed that SE gives us content with lower ilvl rewards and wants to put a week loot lockout on it. I'm working on a 2nd jobs Soldiery Gear set, The gear will be helpful I'm sure, But with UAT as a drop and Sands/Oils coming why would anyone get CT gear. Glamour sure but I think it would be better to wait until the lockout is lifted in 2.4. Seems like such a waste of content.
