or if you're too hardcore and need super challenges for everything you're welcome to play DarkSouls II or EVE online. Shoe goes both ways.
In a real mmo all content isn't supposed to be completed by everyone. Unfortunately this isn't a real mmo, it's a themepark designed to fool people into thinking they're playing a mmo. Also unfortunately it seems almost no one makes real mmos anymore. They'd rather try and fail time and time again to get WoW's cash cow constantly forgetting that there's only so much money that can go around and that no one that's a fan of WoW is going to want to stick around with a lesser version of WoW with less content for very long. People will say "Give the game time to catch up D:" except they forget the typical WoW player or casual player (at least the sort of people these casual themeparks seem to be trying to target) are known for lacking the patience required to play a real mmo. If they don't have the patience required to play a real mmo why would you think they'd have the patience to wait for a mmo that's years behind the game it's copying to catch up in content?I think that there should be content in the game that not everyone can clear. Its an MMO its supposed to be that way. Why is it so important for you to beat everything? If your not skilled enough or you don't have enough time to play the game then find a game more suited for your talents (something like hello kitty island adventure).
Yeah, some people want to get carried by Echo, then play like trash in the next tier of fights they are woefully underprepared for, and cry when people tell them (truthfully) that they are scrubs. And then they continue to annoy everyone in this way until Echo comes to save the day for the tier of fights they're stuck on because OMG NO ECHO!? HOW CAN EVEN WIN!?!?!?!?
You're pro or you're noob. That's life.
Apparently.
one more thing i forgot to mention

What if the Echo buff was just a placebo effect they built in, and as your life scaled up, so did the boss's damage, making it equal to a normal run XD
That would be a monumental achievement for SE, as they claimed it was passing more people through coil. Of course, I have no proof or anything, just a "what if" thing...

Agree. I have played most MMOs, from the most hardcore and the most casual and I never felt ever that a game owns me something because I don't have the time or the money. If you do not have the time, then don't play an MMO because an MMO is not about your time. It is about keeping you occupied as long as possible so it can be profitable as long as possible. And if you don't have the money you are better off spending your money where you really need it (rent, food) instead of an online game. Grind and time are two factors that keep most players playing it. See for example the sad state of Guild Wars 2. Easiest MMO so far and most players have left.
Some people like to think that a game should make everything easy for them because it should and then complain about how "boring" this game is because there is no "challenge" until they jump to the next MMO and do the same thing again. Hard-mode is hard-mode for a reason. I did i.e King Moogle right now and we got wiped 5 times so we had 5x Echo. OK half the group was "new" or not experience enough which is fair play and I died second phage because usually I make one mistake there as a monk and by one nanosecond I miss the chance to avoid the one-shot-thing but the thing is we don't become better overall.
When I did Ifrit Hard Mode it took me 3-5 tries (can't remember) to understand what mistakes I am doing and after that 0 deaths till I got my weapon. If I was relying on Echo I would have never done that and keep on progressing without caring, thinking that Echo will always save me. Echo is a major boost and people that deny that are plainly liars. It basically increases your HP and your overall damage by 10-50% (not sure if it goes above or if it means 10 percent "Echo" and not "10 percent hp, 10 percent damage"; haven't looked at it at all).
It is entertaining that it is not enough that for some people that they can easily obtain a complete set of Mythology tomes. No, they must have a superOP buff so they can always succeed no matter what. They also think that the average player enjoys and wants to be treated as a no-brainer factor when in fact it is the opposite. That is not the case. There is a difference having no-cooldowns on instances that helps people that work and do not want to commit to a specific time schedule and having something spoon feeding them as if they are children.
Mature people are mature and responsible in real life and they can too be in-game as well. Progress is what keeps people logging in and not the easiest way to get around things. I have met all walks of life, and mostly been around people with families and so on and so forth and what they enjoy the most playing together, is doing something that is fun and challenging at the same time because challenge is fun.
But if you say that then obviously for them you must be an "elitist Eve or Dark Souls" players. You can't be a decent player who wants to be challenged and be kept interested in many years because they prefer to be spoiled all the time and not invest any work.
Thanks both of you for the responses and I agree. They are not missing anything. Most of their posts are off-topic or irrelevant or posts that didn't read the OP and they can get away with it because they allow them to troll like that.
I haven't reached the most challenging stuff in this game, but my view is that it is quite a challenging game and I think it will become more. Yoshida definitely not ignorant and understand how an MMO works so in the future he will add more and more challenging concepts.
