But they can, and probably will with roulette, run it again and do the boss fights. First time I cleared Titan HM I felt that I was carried. So I kept going back and hammering it till I survived till the end before I counted that I got a kill.Since one of the problems discussed here is that the new players don't get to fight the bosses because they're in the middle of a CS, I have a solution. To add: the vets do a disservice to the new player by steamrolling content. They don't learn the mechanics of the fight, they don't learn the boss' abilities and how to counter them. The vets just sabotaged themselves because instead of adding a new player into the pool of vets that know what they're doing, they are keeping them noobs longer by not teaching the or having them learn the fight. Onto the solution.
If you want to speedrun for myth tomestones do Brayflox. Don't ruin new players' experience in the main story content just because you're in too much of a hurry to finish STORY DRIVEN content... It's disgusting that people think that this kind of behavior is okay...
Brayflox's Longstop is story driven too, there is the lower level version that leads to the quest to get the hard mode, and haven't you noticed the little bits of goblin dialogue in the dungeon, that's all story, not main story line, but still STORY DRIVEN content homie. As for not ruining new player's experience, if it wasn't in duty roulette, and able to be speed ran, then new players would get to wait around and wait and wait, how immersive is that? "We need you to infiltrate the castrum and take it down now." "Sure thing, I'll get to it in a few hours when I can get some people to help, I don't want these people over here that will have it done in under half an hour."
Another angry new player who's CM/Prae experience was "ruined", but in 3 months they will be the ones trying to solo Nero while the new players are still trying to find their Magitek armor.
Or they could make a PF group for only those wishing to skip cut scenes. Majority rules are fine to some extent but this whole "Use PF if you want this" is ridiculous because NO ONE is that selfless. Its just unreasonable to expect people to do that, just as when you que into a random DF, you are grouped with random people who at the start determine how they want to run the dungeon/content. If the majority want to skip cut-scenes then so be it. Having said that however, Prae/CM require less then half the party to participate in order to down the content, having a couple people watch cut-scenes isn't going to prevent you from clearing.
And ironically enough people have complained about SR fanatics ruining Brayflox HM DF dungeons as well. lolBrayflox's Longstop is story driven too, there is the lower level version that leads to the quest to get the hard mode, and haven't you noticed the little bits of goblin dialogue in the dungeon, that's all story, not main story line, but still STORY DRIVEN content homie. Wasn't the whole point of Main Scenario Roulette to help new players? You can get 100 Myth much quicker by doing two Brayflox Speed Runs (and that includes items that can be traded in for seals. A much better choice). The last time I did Main Scenario Roulette, people were giving a PS3 player a hard time because it would take them ages to skip the cutscene.
Intent by design doesn't always lead to use of intent. Just because the roulette scenario is there to help new players get groups, doesn't mean that is what it will be used for, sadly.Wasn't the whole point of Main Scenario Roulette to help new players? It's a nice idea in principle, to keep populations of story dungeons higher, but in practice it's just ruined by selfish people who can't wait 5 minutes for people to get the proper experience. Can people *really* not spare 5 minutes in a 40 minute dungeon for the new guys? Are you that self-absorbed?
Well the OP of the thread stated that we should make our own groups for speedruns so I just threw the argument back.
I have yet to see a group with more than 3 newcomers. Most of the time its only 1 or 2.
Yeah ok since half the party is enough to clear it imma be an ass and pretend to watch the cutscenes whie afking for my 100 myth.
I really dont understand all this fuss about this.
Most people are ok with it but sure take away the 100 myth / roulette and have fun with your 60 minute wait time.
