Well i'm done, i tanked in WoW and AoC, but this game needs a revision.
If you lose aggro you haven't hit flash enough (or OP) My experience has been with the Pally/Gld while leveling. I haven't had a problem keeping aggro for the most part. (mistakes can happen). For me it was shield lob>flash x3>roh combo>flash>riot blade combo>flash>roh combo>flash>repeat till dead pack of mobs. In WoW aggro was a given on any but a warrior for aoe tanking. FF14 you actually have to work at it. Also your mitigation abilities are off the GCD so you will never need a CD to use one.

As far as dps pulling goes are you marking your targets? Set up some keys to mark order with a keypress, I have them set to my number pad on my mouse. Then dps will be attacking your target. You will need to flash heavily though to keep aoe from pulling the rest of the mobs. When I hit bane on my summoner you can always tell the tanks that don't flash enough from those that do because all but the marked target come to me after a couple ticks.

I am a GLAD lvl 25 from lvl 1 until now, I have been spaming flash to heart content until my PM bar was down to zero, I have been using Provoke when I got it and still, I have been using combos I have (arent many as such) I tried everything possible, backwards, forward, up and downs, and NO WAY I can keep aggro on multiple targets , they just steal aggro from me and I cant regain it no matter how much I spam flash or what not.I use shield everything I can get and NOTHING changes this fact I do not regain aggro. As a WAR, I have far less troubles, in fact almost none compared to GLD. So if you have a miracle solution I am all ears up...so far all I have been with didnt call me names in fact for the most part didnt even leave or kick me, they just said nothign you can do and it will be like that until you get shield oath....

So your comment is kind of strange but if you have a miracle solution by all means let me hear it....be warned though, I tried everything all combination possible with what I have and NOTHING works, if my aggro goes, I cant regain it end of story NOT even with Provoke.

The big issue many fresh tanks have is they want that "magic" rotation that will always work. But...there really isn't a "magic rotation". Much of the player base doesn't realize what goes into being a good tank, and a large part of that is enmity management. For gladiators you don't have a ton of combos. We don't have the 44 rotation combo like the dragoon or the stand dancing of the monk. But hopefully these tips will help.

It is more difficult for a gladiator to hold threat over a marauder at that level do to how powerful overpower is. However, at level 26 (one level away) you will get access to Rage of Halone which is the third and final part of your 1,2,3 combo that you will use for the rest of your career. IIRC ROH has a 5x enmity multiplier which means all your hate problems should go away once you have this ability. Also make sure your rotating your combo moves properly to all targets and marking the kill order of mobs for dps to follow. If your on PS3 and don't have much space for things on your hotbars (or crossbar in this case) then create a macro that adds mark1 to your shield lob this way and use that to mark your primary target. When I play gladiator at that level I usually start each fight with.

Fight or Flight (if its available) >> Shield Lob >> Flash >> Flash >> Fast Blade (secondary target) >> Savage Blade (main target) >> Fast Blade (third target) >> Savage Blade (main Target) >> Flash >> Fast Blade.... etc etc.

Keep in mind however that this "rotation" doesn't really hold up all the time because DPS aren't going to always do what they are supposed to. For the people say "well I just let them die" honestly...your just a bad tank. What you need to do is watch the enmity meters (not the colored shapes on your enemy list the actual enmity meters on your party window) and cycle through your targets. Focus your damage on the targets where the dps/healer have the greatest risk of stealing the mob away from you. IF your the only one with enmity on a target then it doesn't need as much focus as the other mobs. In most cases a simple flash will be enough to keep that target on you, while you may need to spend your entire combo trying to keep the other mob from running away.

You may also want to consider getting Archer to level 4. At that level you will have access to the cross class ability Raging Strikes which gives you temp boost in damage to help hold hate. Lastly, make sure you have the strongest weapon possible for your level. It's good practice when your leveling to check the market board regularly. If there is any gear available for you class that is currently better than what you own you need to buy it right away.

provoke isnt a magic skill like "hit that on me and i'll be bound to you forever".
provoke puts you 1 emnity point above #1 at aggro list. once som1 else pulls a buff, heal, dmg skill after that, you'll lose that #1 spot again.
