You're a tad wrong there. If the roulette didn't exist new players would have to wait a VERY long time for the queue of their mandatory story duties. In my opinion, it's only polite that said new players move at the pace the other 7 are moving, and watch the cutscenes in their room when they're done.

    ^ This logic is boggling.

If the new player doesn't care about CS, so be it. If the new player, like the OP, is interested in the CSes, then the "courteous" thing would be for players to actually wait and be supportive. You don't ask newcomers to immediately get on your level from the get go. It should never be expected.

If you're in a hurry, Praetorium is the last dungeon in Eorzea that requires speed running. You can save yourself the grief of trying to do so.

Honestly. There are better and much more efficient ways.

Considering the new players likely wouldn't finish these quests in a timely manner without people queuing for main scenario roulette, I don't think it's ridiculous to ask them to not waste everyone's time, particularly when cutscenes are able to be viewed elsewhere at their leisure.

If time is an issue, then it's very simple to not bother wasting it on people who are interested in taking their own, or who want to watch the cutscenes while they're in the dungeon in question.

Main Scenario roulette is extremely far from the most time-efficient way to accumulate tomes (Even before roulette it has NEVER been the most efficient means, and yet people were speed running it as though it were). What do veterans honestly care about newbies clearing content anyway? All this talk about time and money and being a paying customer and junk really leads me to believe that the people who queue for this junk really don't care about whether the newcomer clears or not, as long as they get their meager tome reward at the end.
