Oh and by played I meant sat in DF or PF hours on end to find the group was screwed before it started by lag or players lying to get in advanced groups.

Duuuude, supersize that shit.
@killabye in the future you could edit your posts to add to them rather than waste your post count.
just sayin
Umm if this game got any easier, it would turn into World of Warcraft and for those who played it from beta, u know which direction that game went in ^.^
I do agree that it is hard to get a group of willing/knowledgeable players to pug instances like T5/Titan etc. This game seems to scream "GET A STATIC" atm which is abit sad imo but ya.. cant do anything about that. Only thing u can do is find a FC on ur server and get their help with it or form a static/join a static.
I don't like what they done to Coil/Primals with the echo buff, nerfs etc, It doesn't help newcomers learn the fight at all, they just get carried and then they go onto other instances and think its going to be the exact same way when its not. In the long run, it would've been better if they left it the way it was so people would have to actually learn the fights just like others before them and then have it set in their minds that they need to actually put effort in to accomplish things.
Hardest thing for me about T5 has nothing to do with the mechanics, but that the red triangle icon over-characters-heads for fireball blends into both the background and the spell animations for black mages and scholars / summoners. If the person isn't standing directly next to me I can't see it, which makes the "offtank run back and forth" strategy pretty tough because even with all spell animations and names turned off, the triangle just isn't big enough.
Really now, a red triangle? When there is already so much red in the dungeon?
This thread's QQ level...it's...it's over 9000!!!!!!!!!
I'm not trying to be a jerk, but if you can't find 7 other willing people on your server who are able to coordinate and practice outdated and needed content until it's cleared, then you might consider a transfer. I doubt there's any server at this point that doesn't have 100 or more people who have cleared T5/Titan. Just rub elbows and work with them. It'll pay off, and you'll make some friends.
The team precision just gets more and more demanding as you progress, so buckle up. T7's going to rock you if you don't have a coordinated team.
We raid 2 nights a week for about 2 hours a night. We've been doing Turn 5 since 2.2 came out. We have had some turnover in ranks - we've had to replace both tanks and a bard in that time. Last night one of our tanks couldn't make it, so we subbed in a tank from our FC who had never done it before. To his credit, he caught on quickly and only got hit by a couple dive bombs, but overall we didn't get to the twister phase.
I did find out that 2 of our people (BRD and SCH) ran Turn 5 with a pug group the night before and beat it, so now they've got some tips for us to modify our techniques. Maybe that's the push we'll need to finally get past this.
But, really - it's not EASY to me. Not at all. But I guess I'm just not very good.
I am just mad I will never complete the T3 achievement now.
Get a FC, expecting to clear content in DF and PF for one of the hardest raids (pre nerf/echo) is your first mistake. Second mistake is assuming the sword drops from there (like 0/20 on it myself).
People who expect wins in DF, hell even PF are the ones screwing themselves. You need to find a good FC with people who are looking to down the same content as you are so you can meet multiple times per week, set up a strategy, work on said strategy in fight and grind out a win. Our FC is up to T8 right now, we raid 3 days a week two hours per raid, each turn has been a new challenge but we've been able to beat them after putting in the work to do so.
I remember when "this game=ezmode one button masher" threads were all the rage. Granted, it was by a completely different group of people. I'm glad I don't have to balance the two extremes x.x
