    Dilapidated Houses

Since people have so much gil hanging around.

What do you all think about home repair, wear and dilapidation if you will, hence the title.

Just wear and tear of the house if people don't visit it for too long, and the grass grows longer and such.

You can repair it yourself, "botanist/miner" To cut the grass and miner to destroy the rocks and such people toss in your yard.

And the rest for the rest, i.e repairs, cleaning lawn furniture and such.

You could use dark matter to repair yourself, or you can hire someone, a fellow player, to do it for you.

Also it would affect the inside as well, not just the outside.

This may sound silly at first but give it some real thought, before you reply and you might see what I'm trying to sell here.

I think you're trying to sell a bad deal. I, personally, don't have 'so much gil hanging around', but I have a house. I don't want it to deteriorate because I can't sit on top of it all day, every day, making meaningless gil sink repairs.

The cost is not decided yet, but it would be enough to stimulate the economy.

Also I hope that you wouldn't be the only one pitching money in, it would be an FC thing. Not flawless but not horrible either in my humble opinion.

How is giving money away stimulating the economy? IMO getting money from npc's from quests and mob drops is stimulation because it adds gil. Things like gear repair, teleport fees, market tax is unhelpful because it removes gil completely. The less gil I have the less im willing to pay for crafted materials.

I won't explain, but just because I don't want it to go too off topic.

I'm getting a big fat "NO" from Bardaboo, and that is fine. But just elaborate, or pitch in how it could be refined.

Is the core idea a good one?

No, the core idea is an awful one. I personally don't have a big FC, it is literally just me. I got the FC signatures and leveled it to rank 6 (now 8) by myself so that I could buy a house and something that had wear costs enough that an entire FC would need to chip in would essentially mean I would have to work full time simply making gil and not playing the game for fun. Your idea would mean having to turn this game into a job just to sustain the property. It sucks enough to have to do that in reality, having to do it in the game would be awful.

Your problem is that you invested into a group-oriented feature and expecting the same treatment deliberately playing solo. Just because the game lets you do that doesn't mean it's obliged to cater specifically to tiny FCs (even if they will, apart from disuse appropriation)

Having said that, don't think upkeep is the right system to use to siphon money from the economy being half a year since release, and especially since housing is so functionally useless. Even gardening is a pain considering how much you have to baby those plants to get them to crossbreed reliably. Now if they implemented actual perks to having a house, if that airship lab or choco stable ends up being actually useful, or hell a weekly payment for an automatic sprinkler system for the gardens, I wouldn't mind paying upkeep at all. Even if I'm the only person in my FC that actively messes around with the house.

I think I invested into a feature that is designed perfectly for what I expected. Your problem is that you're trying to change a game feature that doesn't need changing.

I recall the system will destroy your house and takeaway your land if people don't visit it for 35day,
    there would be no land for the grass to grow....^^;

I'm afraid I think this would be a waste of development time for something very, very few people would enjoy.

It would be a gil sink that gives the player nothing. Other gil sinks give a service or an item, like teleports or mounts or houses, but this doesn't contribute to fun or lore or gear or anything, it only makes something you already own (the house) worse by adding in a chore and costing money.

I appreciate you probably want to add immersion and take gil out of the economy, but this isn't the way to do it.
