SMN - Why it is not a very interesting job and not a good upgrade from ACN

You really should go read what you posted in the past. What you've been arguing for months is for all the capabilities of BLM and more. What you've been wanting is giant hurr durr primals doing truckloads of damage. That would require throwing everything ACN has and rebuilding the class from scratch. Lore doesn't permit it and it's lazy game design to allow your pet to do all the work. Not like it works well anyway.

As far as SMN doing best in "perfect situations", there is no such thing. SMN excels in almost every encounter in the game. The few exceptions being large groups of enemies and enemies with extremely low life. This argument is better served for MNK and BLM. Of course if you played the class right, you would've known that.

And will someone please tell me why I continue posting to this? It's like an inescapable black hole of incomprehensible jargon that I just HAVE to respond to.

And the result of that is the Egi. How hard is that to comprehend ?

It is amusing because the SMN story itself goes off to explain why a Summoner only grasp an aspect of the power. TO obtain more and attempt to control a more powerful egi/version of the primal is dangerous and the power corrupts the user which was the whole point of the Summoner story. it showcased another summoner that had a lust for power and it corrupted him.

The amount of complaints I've ever seen about their looks can be counted on one hand.

Somethign I'd like to point out.

Isn't Summoner the only job that has the Primal-Egis (including Garuda)? The Arcanist has Carbuncles and the Scholar has Faeries
Granted thougy should went with Ifrit > Titan > Garuda because that was the story order

The lore does permit Summoner's summoning primals it's just that story line has caught up yet.
