I led so many pug raids through content spending countless hours on wipes. Which I'm fine with, I just wanted to play backseat for awhile so I can learn the rest of the classes and how they function for callouts and such in the raid.

No one's forcing you to unlock a job
No one's forcing you to level a class
No one's forcing you to earn gil

Being "forced to get it" is not the problem. Being forced to go through the quest to get it is where people are upset. Novus is a significant upgrade for most jobs and second best in slot for all jobs. It's a big ticket item and people want it.

^^ pretty much that, and If I mathed everything out correctly it could (and I say that very lightly) be BiS for monk.

There is literally nothing hard about either the animus or novus quests. They are designed this way. They can either be hard or require a grind that the devs view to be equivalent. It's second BiS, it's worth grinding for.

I never said it was hard, and its more like a pointless, thoughtless, afk while pushing 456 on my mouse and occasionally tabbing grind.

Did not enough people manage to kill Chimera and Hydra that they thought it was a terrible idea to create a fight this time? Or did they think it was too easy so they created artificial difficulty with mindless RNG grind?
