You take a broken system that distributes random leves of which are not nearly close to being equal in reward add that to the monotony of ranking to 50 with only the few leves available of which even fewer reward decent SP gains and then the ability to make it less of a struggle and people will take advantage of it.

I remember the threads you made, I also remember being targeted as a cheater.

In the end we all wanted the same thing equal reward across the leves available.
I hope you're not implying I targeted you as a cheater. I seem to remember in my original thread I used the words "borderline exploit", which I later softened down because it was somewhat of a mis-statement. What I meant was players were using a system in a way for which it wasn't originally intended.

Either way, I have never, and will never, call anyone a cheater for failing leves. I will do 2 things, however: 1) I will not fail leves myself, and 2) I will advocate for the system to be changed. Both are not necessary anymore as I am currently not playing the game (so I don't have to win or fail any leves) and it is now confirmed the system will be changed.

So if we both wanted the same thing, we got it.

This change is way past overdue, obviously. They nerfed doblyns ages ago, this shouldn't have been far behind. Hopefully they find a way to tackle AFK auto-follow power leveling next. I would not be surprised at all to see many leve-failers switch tactics to AFK leveling after this patch goes live.

really? so you are going to lump in people that leve canceled with leachers? You forget (or are misinformed) canceling leves did not negate the amount of work that needed to be done, all it did was ensure that the same group of people had the same leves each reset to link with.

You also imply that being afk and on follow somehow resembles power leveling. There is nothing power about it.

Yes, optimal organized leve-failing is in effect the same as AFK leveling. You're exploiting game mechanics to attain a large amount of SP for a small fraction of the work as playing the game "as intended". Perhaps you haven't seen the extent some people have gone with these tricks? I'm talking 150-200K/cycle on leves. The sort of AFK leveling I've seen involved people taking "shifts" leading everyone else around on follow killing things as a high rank class. Even if the high rank class is out of SP range of the leechers, the effect on SP is negligible if there are sufficient leechers in range with each other.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. Obviously if there are multiple choices in a situation humans will take the easiest way that offers the most reward. Its human nature. We can't blame people for that. But we can change the system to something better, to something everyone can enjoy. Where you don't have to fail to stay competitive, or do the same 3 leves all the time.

for the record jibe these are the exact kind of people we were referring to. they attack and call people doing something, that until recently were deemed as ok, as cheaters.

In my thread I even explicitly stated several times that I blamed the broken system and not the players, even reiterating that an exploit does not necessarily mean cheating. I was badly flamed anyway with loads of people telling me it wasn't broken and that I should stop whining. Really all I wanted was confirmation it would be fixed, which I happened to get in my thread. After that I had to try to force myself to stop reading.

I'm glad to see this translated comment by Yoshi P because it just vindicates my feelings that the system was broken and offers the proof that apparently so many people needed so see. I find it funny that everyone now is stating that it was obviously going to be fixed, when just a short time ago people were adamantly claiming that it didn't need to be. I just want to see the game get better, and supporting broken systems for any reason is not helping to make that happen. Thanks again for your thread.

If you recall from that previous thread, YOU were the one who called AFK leveling cheating, and I was proving to you that it wasn't. So I'm doing precisely the opposite of what you accuse me of doing. I'm saying both AFK levelers and leve-failers are exploiting shortcomings in the SP mechanics to gain an advantage (permissibly within the ToS) over "playing as intended". If you need to paint a pretend distinction between the two activities to justify yourself, then your problem is with yourself, because I'm not calling anyone a cheater here.

It sounds like we both feel the same way about this. Its nice to know there are people that truely want to see the game get better, not just wanting to preserve a broken system and easy ways to get massive sp
