Is anyone else hoping that Ninja is a tank?

An evasive tank, building up it's ability to mitigate damage through evasion and parrying, and using those charges gained up to use other abilities.

You're basically creating a system and set of skills just to justify why a NIN should be a tank. Anyone could do the same for any other class.

It (and here comes "logic" in a fantasy game) makes no sense that a class, built around a real world people or centuries of real world documentation, that focuses on stealth, sneaking, silence and shadows to be the focal point of the enemies attention. They'd be doing it wrong.

NIN was so much fun as tank. Kinda sucks to have it now as a DD and not as tank. Still REALLY happy they added it!

Ninja won't be a tank. They already stated in the live letter it is a DPS class and we won't get new tanks and healers until the expansion.

I for 1 am glad it wont be tank. it wasn't supposed to be one in FFXI
then again
look at other jobs in FFXI to see player creativity
RDM could effectivally tank till they toyed with its traits but it was not made to be a tank
back in XI I had a MNK tank for me while I was on WHM before so really I think what job is supposed to do what is a matter of creativity and skill. we dont have that kind of flexability here in XIV which is just as well cause I'm fairly certain we would have already seen DRG tanks since I had one tank when our tank got locked out of a boss fight

the one that always irked me was how players shunned WAR when they tried to tank in XI past level 30 content. that never made sense to me at all as the job was good at tanking

this man right here just pointed why ninja tanking is stupid. so please people leave it alone. IT IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE A DPS NOT TANK.
