The duty finder put you in a party with other players from other servers of your datacenter, not only with players from your server.
If it need so long, then there are currently not enough tanks and healers using the duty finder to fill up the party. But at least the other DPS slot should be ready.
If you wait that long you are doing wrong >_>
I never wait more than 5-10m as DD, it is very rare when I get up to 20m.
Anyway did you try to select all languages in DF? Did you set yourself with all languages as well? Although I just put myself with J and EN I wait those values I said. If you feel you are struggling then I recommend you do that, probably will improve your wait by several minutes.
Unless you are trying to do a very rare specific low lvl dungeon or guildhest may take up to 20-30m yes and if you select only F or D then good luck finding a party :x

TBH it really isn't a lack of tanks, It's a lack of players doing all Content. I can jump on my MNK and since 2.2 my Queue times are less than 5mins. The only time I get extremely long Queue times (25mins+) is when I try to do low level content, EX primal, Crystal Tower and other stuff people really don't do often. Pre 2.2 I had queue times of 25mins+ on everything.
As I said I really think its Content based and not a matter of lack of tanks.
As for this I believe SE has separated Melee from Ranged DPS when it comes to Duty Finder. I have a 50BRD and when I tried to queue for a run I had 18min+ waits, Switch back to MNK and the wait time was 5 mins. Same thing happens to my wife She tries to play BRD but the Queue times are so long she just goes DRG.

For international groups, where I see English as the standard, I can accept that, esp. since you are obviously able to speak/write it. However, the same thing brought (esp. on the so-called European servers...) upon us an endless conflict with players who queue for English, but cannot properly speak/write it. But worse, if you queue for German, French, or Japanese and you get in a group of other players who happened to have queued only for D/J/F, be prepared for some very unpleasent reactions. Not from me personally, but you might notice that these languages have an abundance of creative curse wordsAnyway did you try to select all languages in DF? What they should do is make some money making items that drop in the low man dungeons, make them rare to get and that's one way to keep the old dungeons floating or you could put crafting items that are rare drops that are pretty good.
it's like I said a while ago, once the game progresses, its gonna hurt low man dungeons cause nobody is gonna go back and do them, maybe when they release new job classes but that will take forever.
In b4 tanks demand gil from party members to finish instances.
Dont complain if you are below 30 minutes.. thats nothing special in any MMO if u que as dps.
Also im surprised about how many people dont know that you are in a pool of your data center.
Meh, preaching to the choir :P
We all know DPS queue times take forever.
It's tough being a tank cause well, if you screw up, everyone knows it and lets you know they know it.
Being a dps (which I play even more often than tank), you are free to be terrible and no one knows. That's the reason most people favor being a dps. There is no allowed dps meter of any kind... You could just auto attack and there is very little anyone can say to you. Your role is even doubled up on, so as long as the other dps is ok you could even just pretend to do your job.
Healing can be tricky too but, at least when I play healer on something like mythflox, I don't have to lead anything. I just follow and go with the flow. If people don't die, I don't get yelled at.
While I often tank my daily roulettes just so I can get a quick queue, I often have to pay for that short queue by having dps that dps very slooooowly....If I am dpsing I am at least trying to do my job...and unfortunately that is doing more than most people I see in those random groups :P .... (as in some go afk as dps and don't even say)
