Dear Lord! Please make Coerthas green again!

I'd say hope for Coerthas Central Lowlands. It should be between Coerthas Central Highlands (what we have) and Mor Dhona, but it isn't. At the same time though, there is a new door at the camp in Mor Dhona that could lead to Central Lowlands.

There is a door in Central Highlands that the Ixal guard (just north of Natalan) which should lead to Coerthas Eastern Highlands, which seems to be Ixal controlled (all the beastmen are meant to get their own zone iirc, not just a tiny section of existing zones). Eastern Lowlands is obviously beyond the bridge where we fight Gilgamesh. Then there is Shivas zone in Western Highlands.

I'd expect both Lowlands to be either a mix of snow and green, or just completely green. Eastern Highlands might even have some green, seeing as that is where Garuda should be and the winds could be preventing snowfall.

Is it possible that maybe, things don't have to be taken to polar opposite extremes when viewed by outside parties?

Many of us just miss what little there may have been in the 1.0 Coerthas. I'm not calling for the zone to be dismantled, I personally would like to see another side to the zone done in 1.0's climate but with 2.0's more intricate zone design.

Of all the zone re-designs in 2.0, Coerthas has been the only one that has ever bothered me, probably because every other zone gets a re-imagining of what it was, where Coerthas just feels out right re-imagined to be something completely different. I'm not opposed to it, I just have a personal preference.

I'd have preferred the north lands above Ishgard to be snowy, and Coerthas to remain similar. It's whatever though, I'm not disliking on the game because of this issue, I've played both XI and XIV since launch and I'm surely to continue.

Twilight over Thanalan and Gridania's theme were amazing, although I would say Coertha's 1.0 theme wasn't too shabby either.

The music in Gridania was the main reason I selected it for my starting area.

The whole zone itself was nothing that amazing - it was just the same old mountain texture repeated ad nausum (like the rest of 1.0's zones), with a rare landmark item like the Griffin's Crossing bridge, there's not much lost in the change to the winter wonderland that it now is. Once again there's too much looking through rose-tinted glasses here. *sighs*

Or you know, maybe some people actually just liked the zone and music. Opinions vary, but evidently if anyone likes anything in the past, it's simply due to "rose-tinted glasses".

I actually like the snow motif. Gives it a sort of Game of Thrones The Wall style feel defending from the Dragons.

I hope in expansion/future content when new zones are added we get a "summer" version of Coerthas. I do like that we have a snowy zone aswell; but the Coerthas in 1.0 was much more visually pleasing.

And now copy/paste that image until you fill an area the size of 2.0 Eorzea, and you have Coerthas from 1.0.

It did look nice, and the music was great. But it was highly repetitive, just like every other area back then. In fact, all of the area textures were very high quality; that much so, more resources were poured into the game looking good that everything else about it wasn't.

I'm quite glad that we have a snow zone and have no issues with that. I am looking forward to seeing what kind of areas we'll see in 3.0 and we may see places like this elsewhere.

I like that it's wintery. La Noscea and The Black Shroud are lush. Thanalan's a desert. Coerthas fills that snowy/wintery spot niche just fine. It's one of my favourite places to hang out because I love how it looks with the snow.

Frankly I'm kind of miffed as it is that they made the part of Coerthas with Natalan (and Garuda) snowy for 2.0. I love how they go through the story explaining you need poweful ice magic to nullify Garuda's barrier, yet the whole of the zone is COVERED IN FREAKING ICE AND SNOW.
