I think a good compromise could have been if the southern part of Coerthas resembled the 1.0 version, and it only became snowy in the northern part.

The problem is that only the northern part (central highlands) is ingame. Maybe the lowlands are still green, if they come back.

I want to see Ishgard someday too, but to me, "no Ishgard" ranks up there with "no Viera" as odd things to drive someone to want to quit the game.

You're probably right. It's better that it doesn't happen as I'm pretty sure the devs will do their best to make the place as disappointing as possible if they do decide to add it. It'll be as soulless and shallow as most of 2.0.

My only regret is that we'll probably only ever see an Ishgard influenced by 2.0's less than interesting game design.
