    I'm all for this idea. That way people will have no excuse for not knowing they caused the wipe (due to beating the hell out of the mob and not letting the tank establish enough hate etc.) Or maybe thats stretching a bit..but eh.
    As long as it doesn't take up a large portion of the screen, I'm all for it.

    Nah I doubt that. If you can gauge your own damage without the meter, great. If you cant, use the meter. Its nothing that hurts gameplay, but it doesnt give you some sort of advantage in battles.

    Nothing is ever mandatory unless there is some sort of piece of gear or item that will give the entire party an advantage during a fight.

    If anything, the indicator should give the fight a sense of rhythm if done right.

    Such as...? Full threat meters worked fine in WoW (I played before and after they came about), and we're not even getting that much information. You might want to actually wait and see what their encounter designs are like before proclaiming that an enmity display is going to ruin the endgame. Of course, unless you're using a sockpuppet, I seriously doubt you're going to even try the encounters.

    Assuming that being in favor of an enmity meter = "getting everything you want as soon as possible" and enmity meter = "easier mode" is just silly. Personally I'm rather indifferent, I just don't understand the strong and emotive opposition.

    However I found your first point interesting. But keep in mind that providing information to favor efficient play and let the game play for you are two totally different things.

    Let me reverse your example: would you be in favor of removing the Hp bars for the sake that skillful healers should be able to gauge damage absorbed by themselves? "To me it's just the same as an enmity meter"

    Moreover, I am really not sure that auto-cure and auto-ws would mean more efficiency, skill is about timing and stepping back when needed, mana and items management, so I would not want the game to decide for me and don't think that it would take better decisions. But I'm in favor of the game providing me informations in order to take the most efficient decisions.

    Auto-WS and Auto-Cure, Auto-battle to summarize.. it's not the same at all as a threat indicator. Your exemples are the game playing for you, the threat indicator doesn't make you magically skilled at your class. It's just that, an indicator that helps you gauge your threat. You still need to manage it and math it out since it's not hard data, it's a color indicator...
