I'm sorry but you don't get to complain about MMOs when you preface it with this is my first MMO. MMOs are the epitome of the carrot on a stick. Their entire premise is to slowly grind away levels and gear so you can fight one big bad boss who will give you even better gear so you can fight a bigger badder boss. It's just one endless grind and if you don't like that and have to be the biggest baddest hero right from the start MMOs probably aren't for you. I'll admit Atma is annoying since its super RNG, but it's still part of the carrot on the stick.
For your other points what to do you consider meaningful non cheap? Because there's only so much their team can do in a day and tbh I'd rather they spend it on real content for real patches instead of giving you something shiny because you're impatient. Patches every 45 days are just plain unrealistic for anything worthwhile. Their team is only so big and committing themselves to such a schedule would either mean we never get any actual content or it's bugged and unplayable because they never tested it. Also voice acting is to expensive to do in every cutscene because they'd have to pay for 5 different actors. It's also why SWToR failed, no one wants to spend 30 minutes of every hour watching cutscenes.
So before you complain about MMOs please do look into them and realize they're not the same as your console games just with more people. Because everything you complained about is just part of an MMO.
Oh right, that makes turning the game into an utter grindfest okay. Let's give them a free pass because making an Asian Grinder is normal for an Asian company.
I fully agree, TC. And before the haters start hating: Nobody is asking for instant Novus, but getting it shouldn't be mindless grindfest without any challenge at all.

"Grinds" are essential for a MMO and even more for a JRPG. How Dare a Japanese Company is finally getting back to their roots. They DO NOT have to meet western standards, where time-consuming content is a "no go". Grinds are what they are; Do x amount of this > next stage; Do x amount of this > to get this. That is all there is not it. That is what grinds are; GRINDS. You can call them mindless and without challenge, that does not change anything. Btw.. did you do Novus Maps yet? They are more challenging then doing a Peistemap Solo. ( Yes you can solo a good amount of them, like Hapalit, Peiste, Mandies, Jellies, Cactuars, but also some are not doable due the Time-Limit like Turtle, Chim etc )Oh right, that makes turning the game into an utter grindfest okay. Let's give them a free pass because making an Asian Grinder is normal for an Asian company.

So like i did mention a couple month ago allready; As the Questline does progress further, SE is going to implement more "Challenging" Content. I would consider those Maps a "small" Part of what there awaits us next, but correct step in the right direction. And yes.. it is still a grind and not for everyone, like Coil, Soldiery or Primals are also not for everyone.
wish such relic and special gears could be able to "colored".. (it's a pitty, when at the end/level 50 palyers, all are running around in the same colored armors.)
also groups could use more colors for their groups, if those armos could be colored...
So.. you beat all the raids and dungeons within a month? No? Oh..
You people fail to realize that the atma/animus/novus questline isn't something meant to be done in a day, yet you can do it if you want/can.
It's something to be done over a long period of time, bit by bit every day.
Not to mention it's completely optional and far far off from being the main focus of the game.
Could the alexandrite and atma gathering bits be improved? Yes. But is it something you are forced to do to progress? No!
Oh and animus books are perfectly fine, and as for the atma it's boring to grind all those low level fates but it doesn't take that long(20-40h).
Also, you expect them to be able to, in 3 months, make enough non-repeatable/non-hard content that will last you anymore than a month to go through for the first time? You have very very VERY unreasonable expectations.

WoW has been doing this for almost a decade now... and people still play it in great amount of players. WoW is not a Asian grind MMO... People like the challenging content, people like the easier less intense and time involved content, some people want both. No matter what any game developer is screwed, they can't appease everyone but can attempt to provide content for all.
Also they can't give you a new dungeon every week so you aren't "running the same dungeon" all the time, that is the players choice. If you don't want to burn yourself out then take it at a slower pace or go do something else... No one is forcing you to do anything. SE is just doing the best they can to appeal to as wide of an audience as they can, and listening and implementing players ideas. This isn't a 10 year old mmo with 4 xpacs with a ton of things yet because it hasn't had the time to grow to that level yet. Give it time and chill out.
Edit: also people gave grief to Yoshi at release for making lower level dungeons pointless and only run 1 or 2 times leveling up... same with fates, so he implements a system to keep those items still relevant and aid newer players find people to complete those low level dungeons and beat the fates so they don't go unused. Thats actually brilliant in a developer aspect. You don't see many people in WoW go back to the old xpac areas to do anything in them because their is no point to unless leveling a new character. At least Yoshi is keeping all content relevant.

Xeto Milanti Bei

My only issues are the involvement of FATEs in the books and the cost of books. Namely the cost of books after being swindled by the dealer. You mean to tell us that our player character is so stupid to fall for that?

And you fail to realize that it is just the beginning, with each patch the progress and GRIND will continue
Forced to do? No, but if you dont do you will fall too far behind because it will continue!
