I'm pretty sound in what I stated. You don't know me so don't act like you know me. I read everything just because I don't post often doesn't mean I don't read before I reply. If you are oblivious to the fact that people will cry and complain about anything and everything just because they can... well that's your problem not mine. All I did was state that it's not a game breaker and for those crying about it to get over it because it's going to happen.

Also, people used the Windower's additions to the game out the ass. Probably about 75% of the PC playerbase. I never did, because, you know, it's 3rd party, and we can't haves those 8D. However, from seeing other people using it, I could tell it had features in it that simplified your gameplay experience. There was a distance indicator that allowed Rangers or THF to know exactly how far away they needed to be away from the mob to be able to the best damage. It also gave people an idea of how far away from a mob they need to be to get out of it's AoE range. This indicator is no different other than the fact that SE is the one that made it.

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.

That way, instead of using my most potential hate grabbing ability that has a long timer, I can instead use a cure or something to get myself back up to the top. It will essentially be the same as FFXI, just visualized with less guess-work.

And also, it baffles me that people complain about this threat indicator being hand-holding, however they defend the anima system to the death saying it shouldn't be removed even after we get chocobos and airships.

The indicator isn't going to auto-give you hate. It is simply going to give you a reasonable gauge of how much you can pull off (as a DPS or healer) or need to pull (as a tank). It's not a gimmick, it's a tool. And honestly it's better than the percentage based gauge they stated they were going to use a couple of months ago.
I'm against the current anima system just as well; I'm also against auto-attack, the aggro icon that tells whether a mob can aggro or not, and as well allowing the player to even see a mob's level. Furthermore, I'd also like to see that HP bars be completely removed for all NMs, and instead an ability/trait that gives a 'feeling' on how close before it's defeated.

    FUN FACT

If there's a toggle option and the COMMUNITY (linkshells, whatever) decides that everyone must have the icon on at all times if they want to join the nm / dungeon / whatever battle, this means that the COMMUNITY has decided they want to have the convenience provided by the icon and therefore this means that they actually see how it doesn't break the game, so no real reason for this discussion to even happen.

If the COMMUNITY wanted to keep on guessing hate, they could just as easily remove said requirement and let people decide if they want to use it or not.
Fun Fact: just because the community tells you to jump off a cliff, doesn't mean you should.

So I don't understand.. if it was optional, how would it be required? Also last time i checked, i'm pretty sure you could run everywhere and not have to use any anima. Teleporting is a choice not a requirement. But of course most would rather use anima.

I don't think it's going to be as bad as people think it will be.

Many will whine and complain, but since it's going in and no one but the devs can change it everyone who doesn't like it will get tired of crying and then they'll get over themselves.

We'll probably hear about it from the trolls here and there, but by then it won't matter because HOPEFULLY we'll all be too busy playing to read the forums as if we had nothing better to do...

Well, while I do believe that the level indicator somewhat takes away, since there is a toggle to turn it off, as well as whether or not it is hostile, it doesn't bother me all that much. I'm against the anima system POST chocobo and airships, simply because we won't need it after they release, and to have it after they are given to us is just pointless. To allow all classes to teleport to any camp they want doesn't make sense.

But alas, that's off-topic. Either way, I'm all for the Threat Indicator, simply because it will HELP me do my job more effectively. It will not make me a better tank, but it will give me the tools I need to do my best and how to best judge what I could do next instead of making the mistake of using an ability to pull hate when it isn't needed. And on the DD side (haven't said DD instead of DPS in a while..damn you WoW D: ) it will allow me to do more damage, but it will warn me to back off a bit BEFORE the mob turns around and single-smacks me to death. And besides, I'm sure there will still be abilities that do enough damage to put you into blinking red regardless.

Do you even realize what the term, DE-FACTO, means? It is a Latin expression for, "by the fact." In other words, "in practice, not necessarily by the law/rule/book."

If a group wants to head from Ul'dah to Limsa, everyone is going to have to accept teleport instead of running to the port and taking the boat instead.
