    There is a limit on how many dots can be on a mob. The limit is absurdly high, but it's easily hit on Odin/Behem.

    This. There is a limit. SMN (and SCH to an extent) are the worst classes to bring to Odin or Behemoth for these reasons. I suggest bringing BRD and keeping your distance (if you play Foe's it helps boost your aggro meter) or tanking them. A WHM may also be a good option, but healing can be quite spotty during these events.
