No, a SCH can do things much better. They are the kings of single-target after all. Though tanks who do that are flat retarded. Part of the reason I only run Speedflox with my wife and friend now.
I'm on my second book, and no brayflox myth went into it or my first book. I already have half the myth I need for the third.
The progress is slow to some, but it suits my timing and helps me maintain my sanity. So there is indeed some of us who definitely don't go there.
There are people who let the giant bomb come out? LB it as soon as you see the adds and you can skip the giant bomb entirely. Saves at least a minute off your time since he runs around entirely too much after that.
I disagree on that. Although physick+embrace beats the hell out of cure II. But I'd still rather bring a white mage for Holy. Full disclosure, I have a heavy pro-holy bias.
Ideal brayflox party is probably PLD/DRG/BLM/WHM. Between BLM and DRG, if the WHM spams Holy, everything will be dead by the time it gets full stun resistance and it can actually attack again. The tank barely even gets hit. SCH's can't really participate in DPS without putting the tank at serious risk, and even then Bane only hits so many of them. Unless I'm completely underestimating Selene. Then the DRG's single target damage makes short work of the bosses.

When capping soldiery I usually play as WHM for the faster queues. Being able to pull off big pulls really depends on the whole party. You need DPS that can deal a lot of AoE DMG fast, and a tank that can take a beating while also keeping hate on a crapton of mobs. If the DPS are suited to big pulls, and the tank knows what he's doing and has good gear, I can usually keep up with healing by using and abusing divine seal, keeping regen up and spamming cure 1 non-stop with a cure 2 whenever freecure pops up. But as soon as people other than the tank start taking significant damage, or if it drags on far too long due to DPS not being suited to sustained AoE on big groups I start to have problems keeping up. WHM is an alt class for me, I've got ilvl 88 on it, but I'm not as practiced at it as people who main it, so they can probably cope better than I can with things not going perfectly.
while I ran tons of bray HM, I understand how it's so mind-numbing after your, like, 100th run that any slight alteration from speed-run way (such as not LB-ing final boss, not pulling multiple groups) can set people off. Have had this happen a couple times XD after those I normally tanked bray HM so it saved me the headaches of tanks that just up and left lol. I also tanked tons of CT when farming my books for the heck of it but I rarely do it now after I have every single CT gear for every class lol.I'm on my second book, and no brayflox myth went into it or my first book. I will always use Scholar for speed runs since Scholar has no mana issues compared to White Mage.
I don't see why Scholars should have any problem when the tank pulls all the mob before the first boss.
Just sacred soil and spam adlo! None of my tanks died from that.
Energy Drain the remaining 2 stacks of aetherflow and use aetherflow to get your mana back.
I do this with 500 crit and out of 10 times, 4 of my adlo crits to shield the tank for 3000++ hp
Here's what I do as a PLD:
Step 1: Greet with a friendly "Rally-ho!"
Step 2: Ask if the group wants full pulls or half pulls.
I don't bother looking and peoples' gear. I just flat out ask what they can handle. This is mostly directed towards the healer, and how much he or she can heal me. If I'm pulling everything up the ramp, I'll pop a HG, just to give the healer some breathing room. After HG is gone, I'll pop Sentinel and Convalence. usually this is enough for the first pull, if not, I'll just go through my CDs till the mobs die.
Now, I do have a question for the first boss. Where do you want your tank to tank him? I just stand at the border thing to lock out the mobs outside. I just plant the boss there and don't move. I really don't wanna move the boss around too much and risk messing up a combo lol. Is the center the best place for the 1st boss?
For the 2nd one, if the adds spawn or get into range, I'll provoke/Shield Lob them just so they leave the others alone. I dunno, I just go on instint, if a mob is attacking anyone but me, then I go and grab it. Buuuuut, these adds can be taken down by pretty much anyone, so if the mob is too far away, I don't go running after them.
