I don't know how true this statement is, only because FFXI runs on Xbox 360, and it's connected to the same servers as PCs and PS2s. There must be something else to it.

It's from Yoshi-P himself and even before Yoshi-P talked about this last year at E3, I believe it was known that Microsoft made an exception to get Final Fantasy on the 360. Hopefully they will make the same exception again.

If Yoshida wants to put ARR on XBone, it'll have to be on its own server. You also cannot have a XBone without Kinect, Kinect is XBone.

This is both good and bad, as I was one who was more exciting for the original vision of the XBOX before they changed it after E3. It's good that Microsoft listens, but with the removal of Kinect makes their system less compelling (IMO). It's good that it gives players more options and a lower price point.

On the PC front, I'm looking forward to when the drivers are released for the PC so I can play XIV with the XB1 controller as it is the best one on the market (IMO). That's the only thing I can't do right now with my current setup.

Microsoft doesn't want XIV players to play with people on other systems. Hopefully Phil Spencer will change that.

I'm just curious what you mean by this, how is their system "technologically inferior"... "in all aspects :3"? As someone who is blessed enough to have all three systems (PC/X1/PS4) that argument is amusing to me, as I would say each system has it's pros and cons, and if this turns into a 1080p argument then that would be something better suited to reviewing development schedules and setting a base line, more over that one system is physically better then the other.

I feel that where the PS4 excels is that it is an apology for the PS3, and with the added power really helps bring the PS4 up to par with Microsoft's services. Where Microsoft has had issues is trying to be an overpriced Apple TV of sorts... I think someone said it best, drop the 360 to the $99 price point and compete in that market and focus the X1 on great games and experiences. In all this, the best gaming value comes from PC hands down, but there is something to be enjoyed to kick back and relax on the couch without the need for a PC setup, however I wonder if the steam machine(s) will chip away at Microsoft and Sony... I guess time will tell.

Serious question....why Microsoft doesn't want their Xbox 1 players playing alongside with PC/PS3/PS4 users?
They are afraid/bad publicity from players complaining of having to pay for their xbox live account + FF account (while the others only pay one?) or they fear their console could have performance issues going head to head with players using a PC/PS?
