Disappointed by the global feeling if got from FF XIV : ARR

I feel like the game is generally too restricted to let you enough freedom to make what you really want. It is : go to level 50 by making your storyline, make daily quests, wait 12 leve quests per day, make duty missions for your grand company and try to find good people to kill second coil weekly. Don t tell me that the craft is cool because even this aspect, as cool as it may be, is useless considering how the economy of the game is garbage ( i don t even know why i keep storing my gils because i don t even know how to spend them) Even the endgame gears don t allow you to put materials on them so you basically buy or loot them, equip them and then have better stats and hurray, you have better dps or healing power.......how is it RPG really ? As much as i love the game, the '' calculated '' progression of the game makes me sick. I don t even wan t to explore the game and have fun by just doing what i want to do because the game doesn t allow me to do so.

You lost me right here. How exactly does the game prevent you from exploring or doing what you want to do? It sounds a lot more to me like you are on the end game treadmill and are burned out. It happens, but nothing SE adds will change that for you if all you want to do is end game and then complain that all you do is end game.

What i wanted to express there is that the world feels to dull and small to feel connected to it and have the desire to explore it or do anything fun and different from the endgame. The world is too small even without teleport and the monsters are all the same ( damn Amal Jaa.... )
I don t feel connected to the game when i log on and that s a paradox. Playing since September, i wonder why i m still there. I really want to know what you think please....

Me and my friends feel that XIV is more of a hack and slash online co-op game; it has the lvl up aspect, but that is about it imo. ppl are paying, hence they are going to milk it. XIV is pretty shallow, but ppl are paying; hence it is a non-factor. They can afford to be lazy and push out unoriginal/not so creative content, because ppl are paying. Just my opinion.

The alternative was the copypasta from 1.0. I'm glad that is gone - but I agree the zones are maybe a little *too* accessible. They are still trying to strike that balance between what many of us loved from XI, and why many more of us ended up in other games.

I guess my suggestion would be to maybe explore some of the jobs you haven't leveled up. If your FC is a end game environment, pick up a casual linkshell and hang out with those people. There is always going to be some repetition in monsters as you level. They are leveling with you. I remember this awesome post over on alla forums about worms leveling up and travelling to the various zones to xp by getting killed by parties. Such an epic post - but it does illustrate that there is and should be some repetition along the path. It gives the game that feeling of escalation - you get further out and more powerful versions of monsters greet you along with a few new ones.

No one can rekindle the magic for you. There's no silver bullet.

You just brought an other interesting thing i was wondering and complaining since the 2.1.

What i really find to be the worst idea the developpers have with this is to make all of the pre-patch content completely obselete.
No one will ever run the first Crystal tower with its lame ilvl 80 gear and easy bosses.

Same thing for the first Coil and primals. As much as i love the collection aspect of the game, the majority of the people just play it to maximise their fcking ilvl.
I play for mounts and appealing gears but without anyone running old instances, i ll never achieve my desire.......

In 2.3, we will almost forget about the mirrors from Leviathan, trust me.

If you don't feel connected to the game then stop playing and find a new one. No one is forcing you to play this game and get sick of the progression. We live in age where millions of games are available go try another one. This forum really doesn't need another thread crying about how this game is boring. My opinion is this game is fun but not perfect, but I feel connected to my character and enjoy playing with my FC.

I play MMOs since 2006 with WOW. It's the genre i love the most and this is the only genre to provide decent content on the long term.

Paying 70 pounds for a crap game like Watch dogs and to finish it after 10 hours is not for me.

But the amount of content provided by FF XIV shouldn t be an excuse to the boredom aspect. They keep putting Primals and dungeons and shit that makes all of the previous content obselete.

It feels like they planned specific frames completely distinct one from each other by implementing patches after patches.
You are the one making the old content obsolete by not doing it. You are sick of progression so make groups and help new players beat old primal fights. You don't have to follow the herd.
