Could change it so that it instantly kills the target (does not work on bosses) if it's hp is below a threshold (eg under 5%), otherwise do puny damage.
could also use a proper animation while we're at it. other cross class attacks have proper animations so I don't see why this one uses the SQUAT AND YELL animation -_- just looks wrong

I like the idea of putting a short duration debuff on the target, say ten seconds. If the target dies during the duration of the debuff, you get the heal.
Really everyone I get it to work a lot its not that hard to use. The only real thing it needs is a shorter cooldown time something like the archers kill shot move that skill is usable almost every 20 secs
My main issue is it's pretty useless on higher level mobs, easy enough to proc it on trash where you're doing a decent percentage of damage, but try it on something like the bugs in T4 and it's a totally different story. It's not like the cure is a core part of WAR's mechanics though, it's just a nice thing for healers when you proc it, the main benefit of Mercy Stroke is having an off GCD attack with reasonable potency.

I so much agree with this. -_-
It was even worse for a while on PS3 when half the time the glowy axe effect wouldn't show up, so the only thing you'd see is the squat. Even with the glowy axe - just how is this supposed to represent a mercy stroke?
I'd say it's more important for them to buff the Paladin flash and to give paladins a secondary combo for use when off tanking. Mercy stroke is hardly useful, but not what I'd put on the top of the list of tank fixes.
