High Allagan vs i100 Weapons.

Which is better to pvp with?
For example if a black mage in all i100 pvp gear and high allagan weapon were to pvp a Black mage in all i100 with a i100 pvp weapon.
Which one would have higher DPS against the other?

Or on another note, if both of them were to DPS a Paladin in full i100 pvp gear, which one would have the most DPS.

Is it more worth it to grind Coil for a high allagan staff?
Or Grind PvP for rank 40?

Myself and a FC mate are having a little argument over it and I was just wondering if someone could clear it for the both of us.

Moral is a pretty beefy stat in PvP. I'd imagine they are better in PvP than High Allagan

Yeah that`s what I thought as well, and you can really see it when you pvp against people with the same stats.
I`ve actually qued up and fought against someone using a high allagan weapon and the dmg they did to me seemed pretty low vs the same class smacking me with a i100 pvp weapon.
My FC mate is hell bent on High Allagan being better however.
I really wish I had some statistics to show x_x...

Higher ilvl pve weapon always beats pvp weapon when it comes to damage/healing output, the only advantage to having a lower ilvl pvp weapon is that the morale gives you a bit more defense.

Is this fact though? I`ve been reading a bit of both sides.
Wolfeye Staff (for example) gives 44 Morale, which is a huge amount of morale to lose if you equip a high allagan weapon.
Morale not only gives offense but it also gives defense which is a major thing to lose if you are getting smacked by opponents decked out in moral gear.

Maybe the question is...Are you the focus? As a BLM, SMN or Healer, you will be the main focus, so ilvl 100 pvp weapon(penta-melded) is your best option. In other hand, as melee dps or tank, maybe you can do more dps wearing the high allagan weapon over the ilvl 100 pvp.

Yeah that makes sense. Moral would be a lot more useful on a class that is focused a lot like BLM, SMN, Healer (or maybe even bard).

Yeah I agree Logo, I was scanning reddit to see if I could find some answers and it seems if the PVE item level is 20 above your PVP weapon its safe to use.
The Morale loss is just too great if its any lower. Especially if you are the main focus like BLM or White mage for example.

Wolf vs HA => 44 morale vs 5 Magic damage and 8 int

5 Damage => 20 int so 28 int
28 int => 140 Determination

So Morale would have to be ~4x as effective as Determination in increasing damage for the Wolf staff to be the better bet dps wise. I'm not aware if it is or isn't but just some numbers to think over.
