Ouch for people who never got the opportunity. Guess same applies to the Cactuar/Bomb earrings that sold for 1 gil? Never again as well?
Items representing/featuring such prominent FF characters should not be removed forever. Make people wait a year if you have to but never...that's a bitter pill to swallow. Especially when it's pretty easy for you to add them again (imo), taking into account a lot of new players took up the game recentlyIt's not like doing FATEs or paying 1 gil is actually working hard for those items, it's called being in the right place at the right time.
At least some things are going to be exclusive, for a while anyway, if not indefinitely. Despite the people who cry that it's not fair, this is a good thing. Now, sure, I think the hairstyles should be perhaps added in with the Aesthetician, but that's it. Items and gear should stay exclusive until the next time that even comes around.
In the case of the Lightning Returns event, well it came around twice and is an exclusive thing. Just like the FFXI and Dragon Quest events. Those are not likely going to happen again unless there is a reason for them to.
Limited time offers for subscription MMOs have a very specific purpose: they encourage subscriptions. If I'm deciding whether or not too re sub for a month or just cancel sub till next major patch, the fact that I may miss out on item/feature x may just tip the balance.
If I'm reasonably certain I can obtain it later somehow, there is less incentive to maintain my sub.
They are not limited time offers. They're freaking Events. Events in MMORPGs have always been either Seasonal or One-of-a-Kind. Be they Subcription based (though, particularly Sub-based have been this way) or Free to Play.
You either do the event or you wait and hope they run the event again, or in the case of seasonal events you wait until the next time they occur. Deal with it.
Everybody want's a handout. -_-;
Aion had exclusive untradeable items, at least you could skin the appearance onto other items and sell on the broker for exorbitant amounts. At least people still had a means to acquire what they missed out on.They are not limited time offers. They're freaking Events. Events in MMORPGs have always been either Seasonal or One-of-a-Kind. There is nothing exclusive about doing FATEs or talking to a Moogle and paying 1 gil. The end result of not doing those things is missing out forever? Too harsh.
Right, but:
1) The character creation hairstyles are always and only the standard ones that were there when the game was launched. Any other hairstyle, including quest-able ones and ones added with new patches, can be seen only once you unlock the aesthetician.
2) Lightning/Snow hairstyle is not account-shared. Only the character that has done the event can see the hairstyle in their aesthetician list, so even creating a new character and unlocking aesthetician will not let you pick the Lightning/Snow one, nor see it in the list.
That being said, yes, I think the Lightning/Snow hairstyle will be definitely there even if you use Fantasia to change gender, long as you have done the event on that character.
I can confirm that, went from female to male and I had the Snow hairstyle available, later I switched back to female (one time restoration for extra fantasia) and Lightning hair was still there (just a heads up since many people wonder if you'll lose the hairstyle doing this process).Right, but:

Please give us a way to craft the Level 13 gear from the LR event. Those of us who were unable to complete the event in time due to other commitments should have *some* way to get the items.
