Sure they can, but they would have to leave their own respective FCs as a commitment to collect signatures with their friends. People don't just make FCs for progression credit and then leave them to go back to their old FCs. Then the FC no longer exists and there is zero point to their progression.

Linkshells don't require you to leave anything or do anything other than speak to a npc. You can make them on a whim and leave them on a whim and no one would know the difference.

You can Make FC's on a whim and leave them on a whim. Oh, for the FC all you have to do is talk to a NPC; and invite your friends.....hmmm sounds about the same amount of effort as a LS minus the 15k Fee.

The biggest difference being you can be a part of a Linkshell and a Linkshell, or a Free Company and a Linkshell, you cannot be a part of a Free Company and a Free Company, just like in competitions you cannot be part of two competing teams that are in the same tournament.

Not everyone will understand the reference, but let's take LCS of League of Legends.

Say there's 8 teams competing to race to the "top of the ladder" which in this case instead of progression, is a spot into playoffs the highest w/l ratio.

Doublelift, an AD player for Counter Logic Gaming, isn't also going to go play on Cloud 9 WHILE playing on Counter Logic Gaming, and then just be conveniently credited to whichever team happened to do the best while still being a part of both.

Okay. Say you're apart of Advent Union. You also take part in Ero Join (LS). You decide to conveniently go with whoever is further in progression and credit goes to that group. You're still a resource to either group, except since people in your Linkshell are ALSO apart of competing guilds, they have no ties to that specific linkshell. Therefore, you just go with your superstar linkshell and push Free Companies to a disadvantage. And you can choose to do this with any amount of Linkshells you're apart of. Also, if your Free Company sucks and your raid time is over, you can gather those people on a weekend in the Linkshell and clear then and diminish the value of Free Companies, or any exclusivity rather. That and read my prior points I've made and address those.

I'm not total Nazi-mode against allowing Linkshells, these are just my concerns.

How does this hold any value? I'm raiding in my LS. Not in with a FC.

What is stopping the TWO people not in our FC in our LS. From joining 1 week for a clear out, then leaving after being added and going back to our LS team. Absolutely nothing.

Then vice versa for Nos and Grade.

This is a good point and why I'm considering only qualifying specific linkshells that only raid in either/or of an FC/LS, and not both, as that makes you a resource to both competing for the same common goal. Lack of evidence becomes a bit of an issue, though.

We don't take resource from Nos. They don't take from us. Our GROUP works together as a whole and that is it. Nothing more nothing less. Our team is separate from our tag.

This is correct and would be considered a legitimate clear as long as they were in the FC at the time - based on progression standards since the beginning of the game and most any mmo you can find. The difference is that they would actually have to take the steps to leave their current FC and join another for the credit, instead of literally doing nothing and just being in the Linkshell. It's about commitment.

this is literally the exact same circumstance you are suggesting would or "does" happen with a LS
