You can accomplish the same thing AND still give Linkshells the recognition they deserve by placing [LS] next to their name. That way, FC's can still use the recognition for their recruitment.

This is actually what I wanted to do, but those who I've talked to wanted me to disregard it completely. As more Linkshell leaders / FC leaders come to talk to me about this and I can get a balanced look at what the majority wants and not just those that have cleared in Linkshells want, I will be editing it accordingly.

In any case, I had to take over this role on a whim because Sevyn is quitting cold turkey, so it's a lot of work and I'm trying to do what's best for all parties and those looking to recruit based on their progression status in Coil. Bear with me.

Did you even read those links? THREE out of the FOUR of those allow LS and Mixed groups. Please address my former statement as well--- "You can accomplish the same thing AND still give Linkshells the recognition they deserve by placing [LS] next to their name. I did read the links, and there's 5. They acknowledge mixed groups but only a couple specify that linkshells are okay and most require FC only or FC tags in the screenshot.

I addressed your second point.

I understand where you are coming from, Drexxin. I do apologize for any sense of hostility you get from me, but I hope you can see where many of us Linkshell players are coming from. I think marking linkshells and FCs wotj tags would be the most logical decision, and hope to hear from others.


Also, after rechecking, only one of those five*** links states FC only. So my statement still stands from earlier.

I understand where you're coming from, too, but something that many guild leaders have brought up that Beren posted here

Linkshells gain nothing from progression recognition outside of saying they've done it, which they can still get from the world progression thread, but FCs actually gain benefits that come in the form of members, which turn into seals/gil/housing/etc.

...is also something to consider. Again, I agree just specifying [LS] after the linkshell is a possible solution, but I'm waiting to hear more and also waiting for a response from Sevyn.

I just don't see the point of adding Linkshells on, even considering that the other threads did not allow it either. Linkshells literally gain nothing from being included, while at the same time cluttering up the list and making things harder to read and understand.

They can still get recognition from the world progression thread if that's what they want. Anyone can get some friends together and make a glorified chat room - aka Linkshell.

FCs gain recognition, knowledge of standing compared to other FCs, and increased/better recruitment options. More members in an FC means more FC seals, better benefits, Gil, access to an FC bank, knowledge of when your friends log on and off, and housing - among other things. This also promotes more people to get together and commit to their friends and create an FC. More members in a Linkshell is just... more members in a Linkshell.

As another post-- If you want to make a Server-Wide decision, why not let the groups/members that have progressed furthest make a vote? Since they have put in the furthest progression, they should be the ones to choose how they are represented. We are a community and should be represented as so.

Believe it or not I intended to, but I don't think your linkshell leader was on at the time.

What advantages?

Mostly complete lack of commitment. My return question is if it doesn't pose an advantage or isn't easier either mechanically or emotionally, why don't the Linkshell players form an FC?
