    It makes sense that the tanking specialist job should tank with tanking specialist arms.

    But I'm sure someone will figure out a way to dat swap sword+shield into polearms for you crazies.

    Yes, you could tank with a polearm, by NOT USING A JOB SPEC - you can still use the armory system.

    I tanked all the time with a Polearm, a Staff, and a Battle Rod in FFXI on Paladin. I would like the same choice.

    I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

    No, Because Its dumb to make the series as a whole go back a step in player customization.

    I'm not asking for FFXI-2. I want a unique game that lets me play my job how I want to play it. If that means using weapons that in the past that job has been able to use, I should be allowed too.
