Best Gear in Coil needs to end

I'm pretty much on the fence when it comes to this, in that I have no idea which side of the fence to go to. On one hand, it seems that naturally the best gear should come from the end game raid, which in this case is SCoB. On the other hand, my sub-character has been through 7 weeks of T6-8, which amounts to... 60 items? (didn't clear T8 the first week), only saw 1 casting item. Ever. And lost all tome,oil and sand rolls, and I rolled 90+ on a few of those. Pre 2.2, I could be like, "Oh okay, it's okay, I can compensate by redeeming myths", but that's not the case now. So.. 7 weeks into coil and I have nothing to show for, pretty much Yoshida's way of giving me the middle finger through how they decided to do loot this patch round, it's as if I might as well not have spent the time to clear SCoB, which kinda spoils the 'best gear comes from coil notion', albeit admittedly due to RNGesus being a PITA. I remember talking to a friend about this, that there'll be some unlucky asses without a static without any items to show for this patch because of how the loots work this time round. Guess that ass is me. Not sure if anyone feels the same.

While BiS is gated behind Coil and it's difficulty. The gear distribution is in no way balanced and guaranteed just because you do it. The whole "time and loot" theory scenario wont help groups that only raid on certain times of the day.

At least for players in your position CT2 is coming out and not the 3rd Coil of Bahamut leaving enough chances to get that BiS if you have it on farm.

Unrelated to the topic, but maybe you should attempt to ask them to evenly distribute tomes / oils / sands after each person gets one. Especially since you're a DPS.

The topic title is somehow misleading but I do agree with the TC.

There needs to be more options in getting top gear aside from just doing Coil.

Yes I hope they make more raids all of which are harder than coil is. Then we'll see whether or not everyone who is complaining, wants more ways to get gear and not easier ways to get gear.

I think they did it right with 2.0.

Both coil and myth were i90. But to achieve BiS, you needed many of the coil pieces so coil was never seen as not worth it.

Being stuck at average item level 100 because you can't get coil drops (no static or bad luck) is pretty lame.

I think SE plan is simple, they introduce BcoB, 20% of the players clear it with Ilvl 70, then CT locked, another 20% of the players clear BcoB, then they introduce SBcoB and open CT and BcoB, so 75% of the players clear BcoB and 20% clear SBcoB.
They will keep doing the same till the next expansion.
2nd CT will be Ilvl 95 and locked, and when 3rd BcoB comes 2nd CT will be open so dose 2nd BcoB.

I feel too few groups have the dps needed for the later turns. Everything is too tuned too tightly. They really do need CT to drop i105 to help push everybody's gear because i100 isn't cutting it. You absolutely need better gear than that for Turns 8 and 9.

We should call the fail bus right now then because i95 in CT2 would be just about useless. Just because CT1 was basically glamour gear doesn't mean they're going to make the same ridiculous mistake again. In fact, they can't really afford to.
