Wasn't that the Gilgamesh card? :P
Also, convert that Bahamut card for 99 Megalixirs. Never be in a pinch again!
Changing it back isn't likely. Because while he did say they want more people doing coil, I doubt that's the sole reason. They mentioned more than just that in a live letter, along the lines of it being a mistake the way they did it.It is my understanding that the developers changed "the best gear available to everyone" to "the best gear in coil" solely because they wanted more people to attempt coil.
I'm curious what they would do if they didn't see a significant increase in the number of people doing coil.
speak for yourself, you dont represent the community. What just about every MMO does, nerf it or find ways to tone it down and make it more mainstream and accessible. People already complain about DF + Echo yet there's no other alternative that will get the rest of the community to try and tolerate difficulty content like some Primals and Coil that is not fun at all to do. Which is a shame because there's way to get people to attempt coil but those methods are long forgotten it seems.
thats where CT2 comes in to provide the much needed diversity. But ultimately coil will be the final destination for the best gear and people that cared about progression will always do it. This design flow has always been communicated from the start of 2.0 so I don't understand why people are complaining now. It will obviously change when a new expansion comes out.It is my understanding that the developers changed "the best gear available to everyone" to "the best gear in coil" solely because they wanted more people to attempt coil.

If you don't find it fun, then don't do it and stop complaining that it's too hard or there's too many "zero-tolerance mechanics". I'm sure you're the only one here whining that content that is supposed to be the hardest content is hard. What just about every MMO does, nerf it or find ways to tone it down and make it more mainstream and accessible. Hey remember so stack up 99 Meteor magic on your Rinoa, activate Angel Wing and use Holy War, it will be auto pilot to victory! Just go take a dump and come back for your kill rewards![]()
I may not agree with how Gormogon suggests things and why, but really the rest of you are not doing much better with the personal attacks aside from making yourselves look bad.
There used to be threads on how doing coils was pointless basically when the gear levels were the same, unless you were going for best in slot and in all honestly while it does make a difference it was not incredibly significant for the most and being mainly visible only on DPS.
Now they decided to go with this and there's an uproar about it, even thought for the looks of it, is ofc people that hasn't been able to beat turn 6 at least from what it seems.

I hadn't seen that. Well, there was the bit about the i90 weapon dropping off of twin which WAS a mistake (since there was almost no reason you wouldn't already have your relic by that point). But for the rest of it, it would be nice to know what was said. Don't suppose you have the original reference handy?
Not exactly. They *did* say it was meant to be dungeons -> CT -> coil, but then they screwed that up by withholding CT at release. Then CT became all about glamors and alts, but there's no telling whether they'll maintain that with CT2 or what.thats where CT2 comes in to provide the much needed diversity. They also said in 2.0 they wanted to have 2 paths to the best gear. Coil, and for those who don't choose to do coil, myth tomes. Myth tomes being the slower option, especially when you only got 300 myth per week, so each piece was 2-3 weeks. They've obviously gone a different route with 2.2, so there's some discussion as to the effects of that.
This would be the drawback to allowing players to get a full set of relatively equal gear outside of coil. Especially if you had access to the main pieces (weapon, chest, legs) as quick or faster than your average coil raider would. There used to be threads on how doing coils was pointless basically when the gear levels were the same, unless you were going for best in slot and in all honestly while it does make a difference it was not incredibly significant for the most and being mainly visible only on DPS.
Which is funny, because the guy that started the thread is wearing a couple pieces of high allagan gear. But you know, assumptions and stuff...Now they decided to go with this and there's an uproar about it, even thought for the looks of it, is ofc people that hasn't been able to beat turn 6 at least from what it seems.
Taking a polarized approach is usually always counter productive since it avoids the issue completely. There used to be threads on how doing coils was pointless basically when the gear levels were the same, unless you were going for best in slot and in all honestly while it does make a difference it was not incredibly significant for the most and being mainly visible only on DPS.

Feels like E3 is effecting FFXIV more than the PS4 development. Since 2.0 - 2.2 felt more balanced than 2.2 - 2.3.
