If you want to get an idea on progression, it's not uncommon to look at each server forum. Some of them have progression threads that detail what FC has done what. Also, concerning activity, you may want to mention which time zone you may be most interested in since you may be interested in moving to a NA server but if your play time is mostly 3AM EST or something similar, you may be better off on another server.

I came from Faerie to Gilgamesh, not only is the server active when it's EST prime time hours for me, it has a large group of all player types, I see the PF constantly fill up to 20+ lfm daily. The progression guild is there and constantly expanding their raiding schedules. Just has more people on it that really keep me occupied from ever feeling like I am alone on the server at any given time.
