I personally have yet to watch all the cut scenes from the last final few main scenario instances and I've done them numerous times. And I don't know if it's just because I've never watched them or don't know where to look but there is no option to view them in the inn, which I have no trouble doing so.
The cutscenes are under Duties.I personally have yet to watch all the cut scenes from the last final few main scenario instances and I've done them numerous times. Watching cutscenes on your first run is intended. Killing all mobs is intended. Grabbing all chests is intended. However, farming a run, skipping scenes and being able to skip mob groups is also intended. You're asked to collect a bunch of myth after your first run, and repeat old dungeons over and over. The developer have made it possible to speed run for those that want to. This isn't an exploit (depending on the tactics used). Helping a new player is optional. Being polite is mandatory. What? I'm in my thirties also and your attitude seems entitled. The game has DESIGNED with the cutscenes included and as part of the game. By asking others to skip a CS your essentially saying your time is more important that theirs because you wish to play the game outside of its intended design. Skipping a CS (and I do it to) is up to each player and most players skip them but if someone wishes to watch it then we shouldn't harass them because they are playing the game as intended. Do I have some issues with the CS lengths and placement, yes, thinking its entitlement to play the game as intended is outright wrong. Reread some of your own post, be considerate of others that are playing the game like you've said several times.
The person being entitled is whichever person enters the duty finder and demands others to their way, without respecting the choice of the other players. If players don't want to wait for us, we may find that inconsiderate, but they are not obligated to slow down for us. We or they have the right to use vote kick / leave / vote abandon if the conflict of interests can't be resolved. That's no violation. However, harassing the new player and being rude, as the original poster described, is certainly unacceptable behavior and should be reported / dealt with.

That's right. No point insulting each other, a mentor sytstem or something could help new players find the support they want for their first run, so that farming runs can continue (there's nothing wrong with farming a run, but being rude to a new player is uncalled for - they can't help that they are new). In fact some players are playing a second / third character and want to just progres quickly, and some brand new players don't care for the story and are happy to join a farming group as long as the queue time is short. For those players the duty finder i8s working well. However, many players want a supportive / considerate group for their first run, so they can watch scenes and not be expected to rush / skip mobs/chests. That's not a crazy thing to want, so I hope the developers can give us the tools to find such willing players to help us.I'm sorry Diablo that you have had bad experiences on this in the past and believe our opinions will make the game less enjoyable for you.
You are misconceived. We are actually trying to make the gameplay experience more enjoyable for you. If Square Enix can find a solution, then you won't have to sorry about new players watching this cutscenes.
We are fighting for this as much for your sake as we are for our own. Please see that.
Axiom, I'm sorry that you've had to experience this as a new player, and I'm glad to see how you've responded all this time in the thread, it's very admirable to see someone who can keep such a calm head about all of this, maybe it's just in my nature, but I would get frustrated with a lot of these people.
I will tell you a story about my first Praetorium experience, I've mentioned it a few times on the forums.
I play this game with my cousin, and we both got to Praetorium at the same time, but I was on before he was the day I cleared it, and so I ran it without him.
I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan, and so the story and cutscenes actually matter to me. My only leveled job was a tank, gladiator to be specific, so my position in this party was pretty much useless, as the other tank could have handled everything on his own. I don't remember how it was brought up, but I mentioned that I didn't want to, but I had to skip the cutscenes in order to participate somehow. The tank in the party said to watch the cutscenes and that I should enjoy them, and so I did. After each cutscene I would join my party mid fight or waiting for me at the door to the boss room waiting for the next encounter. Leading up to fight Nero tol Scaeva for the first time is something I'll never forget, seeing my entire party waiting for me at the end of the long hallway, I was very grateful to every one of them, especially the tank.
After the final boss, right as the cutscene started, I quickly thanked everyone in chat for letting me watch the cutscenes, and told them all how grateful I was, and they all gave me kind words and congratulated me on clearing the story and told me to enjoy the rest of the cutscenes.
While I forgot the tank's name, I'll never forget what he did for me, and the rest of that party. It might sound stupid to some of you, but for the people like the OP and me, it matters a lot... I, being the second tank, have little to no purpose even being in the party, other than weak DPS, I could have easily been left behind. I vowed to do the same thing that tank did for me to anyone else that joins a party I'm in that wants to watch the cutscenes, I've defended many players who want to watch the cutscenes, and will continue to do so.
Story time is over!
While I'm not sure this issue will ever be resolved, just know that there are players out there that care about the new guys. Never let anyone tell you to skip the cutscenes, never let anyone tell you how to enjoy this game. The Story Roulette is to help new players, and these people need to learn that.
Good luck to you and to all other players in your future lives in Eorzea.

There is a lot of hate for people wanting to watch the story, I am on my first play through and do not watch the story too much, but if I have someone who is watching I don't mind. I'd rather someone enjoy the story and keep playing the game rather than me saving 5 mins so they don't see the story.
let me help all of you out with something
A car comes into my lane speeding straight towards me. I do not move out of the way, because he is in my lane. I am driving how the rules of the road intended me to drive. He is the one speeding. I die.
This is your logic. GG
I really do hope this analogy helps you to see how entitled a lot of you are in regards to this issue and probably life.
If you don't care about other people's time, only your own time and your own enjoyment.
Then by all means, do not swerve out of the way.
P.S. to be even more accurate make that 7 cars speeding at you, sometimes majority does matter.

That does not make any sense.
