I'm sorry Diablo that you have had bad experiences on this in the past and believe our opinions will make the game less enjoyable for you.
You are misconceived. We are actually trying to make the gameplay experience more enjoyable for you. If Square Enix can find a solution, then you won't have to sorry about new players watching this cutscenes.
We are fighting for this as much for your sake as we are for our own. Please see that.

I'm a tad worried now that people on my side of the argument are being as pretentious and rude as the disagreeing party.
Remember that neither of us is right or wrong, we just need to encourage the dev team to find a solution that works in both our favour.

These countless arguments on the subject prove that we all care equally about our individual play-styles, so work together to resolve this issue and it will be in everyone's favour.
Otherwise we will get nowhere and all that will come of this is an increased separation of differences and not a solution.

Create threads, share the word, kick up a fuss if you have to but be professional about it.

And once again DC, you refuse to acknowledge that other's priorities could possibly be valid. You accuse everyone else who disagrees with you of being inconsiderate regarding this aspect of game design (which plays the cut scenes BY DEFAULT with skipping as an OPTION, does this really need to be spelled out for you any more clearly?), and yet you are doing exactly what you are accusing them of doing. Great logic, bro! Every argument you made could be used just as easily against you.

Regardless of what anyone would rather do, it's not an ideal setup, but it could be much worse. You have several options...so use them to the best extent you can and hope that Square Enix will tweak it at some point. Send them some emails if you really feel that strongly about it. There's no need to make it out like people who watch them are the cancer of this game. Hysterics will get you nowhere. You may as well be pissing into the wind for all the good it does.

I think CS length is not fixed? ^^; when I don't press any button it lasts like forever.

    think about this:

if you use the df to progress in your story line... your really not getting the experience you should be by your own doing... those fights when made were really tough battles.. using the df you don't experience an epic fight that you wipe to numerous times because there are people in gear that was unheard of when it was released.. so crying about not experiencing the fight ... cmon dude..on a 2nd note though.. the extra tomes in dungeons are givin to us to deal with base line equipped new ppl.. something we SHOULD be doing and not whining or exiting because they are new..if you want to experience the game as it was INTENDED.. don't use df.. use the pf and tell people you don't want anyone to join with an ilv over 55.. and enjoy it the way it was DESIGNED to be.. using the df for quest progression is a double edged sword... you give up your right to epic battles and watch cut scenes ... to be carried by people that are geared to just destroy the bosses.

    Diablo, I'm 44. You'll mellow out a bit when you're a bit older, kiddo.

I'm also one of the older players.

I remember my first runs Castrum etc.
I advised that I am new to the duty and they asked me to skip the scenes because it is a speed run.
I missed the CS but I understood the reasons and I was more concerned not losing my party.

With having run my own Duty Roulettes now, I completely understand both sides of the runs.

From my experience, 1st runners are always warned at the beginning of the run and explained what it means. I also ask if they can skip the Cut Scenes because the party might not want to wait for them.
It is their choice to watch the CS or not. The consequences are also clear. If you get lost, you get lost.
I had a party run where a 1st runner didn't register for a certain item at a terminal and got so lost that he only appeared again at the Final battle.

Whether it is good or bad, it is what it is.

To me I think it's appropriate to watch it on your own time, not at the expense of someone else. It may seem small to you, but watch that same cut scene 5 times, then put yourself in someone else's shoes who've done the same thing.
In all honesty, that doesn't justify death threats though..could just simply ask can the person not watch the cutscenes because there are things you have to do and you want to hurry and get it over with.

While it is within your right to watch the cutscenes, others who have been there before also have the right to want to burn through. Unfortunately, as in life, fortune often favors the fleet. What constitutes doing wha you want 'on your own time' is a tough pill for most to swallow. It means being upfront about what you want out of the run, and if it isn't found to be within majority acceptance, ask for a kick and find a new group. Hopefully with better luck. Or do party finder and maybe make some likeminded friends in the process. Thems better spoils than loot, believe you me. ^^

I also want to point out that I do not condone throwing bones to the loot oriented community by offering play style oriented bonuses. I feel that this will further exacerbate the problem and hike up the already pretty steep treadmill a few more degrees. What we need is better community, but the only people who can help us find that is ourselves. Part of doing that is to report whatever asshat threatened you and allowing the GMs to do their part to take out the trash. I can assure you behavior like that isn't ignored.
