    My main point is that people don't play old games without all these features just for the nostalgia factor. They play them because they're fun games and regardless of these modern features, and demanding that new games retain all these features regardless if they really add anything substantial to the game or not seems shortsighted to me.

    Some features are helpful, some features are unnecessary and end up being cumbersome to the overall experience. Just because something is new and modern does not automatically make it good or necessary.
