Have you considered transferring to another server?

I would just like to add that even when you get into a static, it can still take a while for everyone to get used to each other and their playstyle, before they can “sync up” and clear the End Game content like the Binding Coil of Bahamut.
While the DF and PF are good means to get into content like Dungeons, Raids, Trails, etc on your own or with an incomplete group, you will mostly play with people you don’t know. This will make it harder to clear things like Turn 5. Nowadays, a lot of the people you meet online in an MMO have a certain idea how people to play the game (with them). Be it by clearing things without dying, without making mistakes, speed running dungeons, or simply follow their strategy (like Turn 1 “Sack pulling”, Turn 2 “Enrage Mode”, Turn 5 “Solo tank”).
In order to learn certain content, you need to experience it yourself. Watching a movie is one thing, but as long as you don’t get the experience you need, you won’t progress. Only a select group of people can watch a movie and replicate/incorporate into their playstyle immediately.
But, you should not worry about things like that. You need to play the way you want to play, and learn tactics to tackle content the way that feels best for your. Not the other way around.
To put it into perspective:
It took my static a few months to tackle Turn 5. We’ve only managed to get the clear a few days into Patch 2.2. Do we get a clear with every attempt? No. But we have the damage, knowledge and the experience to tackle it. On top of that, we devised our own adoption of the more well known tactics to tackle Turn 5 and each member in the static knows what he or she has to do by heart. That is what counts. Nothing else. (^_^ )
So, i just want to say, don’t give up. If you really want to get that clear, pursue it. Look for like minded people. They come from every corner of Eorzea. Just keep an eye open and an open mind at all times.
Form parties in the PF for things like the lower level dungeons and if you like how the person thinks/plays, talk to them about forming a (static) group for the higher tier content like CT, Primals and eventually The Binding Coil of Bahamut.
Don’t hesitate to form Learning parties and don’t be afraid to fail at the beginning. Learn from it and improve as a group.
That’s how Linkshells, Free Companies and friends are brought together.
Starting party finder does not mean you're leading anything. It simply means that you started a group search, with certain criteria needed to be met.
I'm on Behemoth, was about to give up on Garuda EX because most parties don't want a melee dps and died to WW a few times in duty finder and party finder parties that I started.
PF leader doesn't mean you know anything or are the best in the party for the content you are trying to complete.
Anyway, don't give up... I was there too. Took many tries but I cleared it eventually, also don't consider dying from WW and the party completing it count as a win. When you stay alive the whole time, that is when you actually know the fight.
I understand. However, if your time is limited, why bother with the Zodiac quest when they explicitly told us it would take time. <----
If you don't mind having your animus in August, just go for it. It's just crazy that some people are at those crazy numbers for 1 atma while every single person I know, including myself, just never ever experienced it (some with two zodiac quests and going..)
To me it sounds like "I dont like this sh*t. Im going to exaggerate my experience so it will help my opinion".
But hey, many believe a nerf is coming, maybe you're lucky. Id wait for the next letter and then decide to continue with it. If you don't quit the game that is.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet; you can post your issue to your server sub-forum to see if anyone on your server can help. You can also check out FC ads or perhaps find people in the same boat as you on other servers.

hey OP, transfer to famfrit retribution will hook you up lol

Just beat Garuda Ex on duty finder. You have to just keep going at it until its done.
I just started playing and reading this thread makes it a bit discouraging to level with all the elitists in the game. I know it's not the majority but, even a few bad apples ......

Unfortunately,it doesn’t matter what you do. If you are playing FFXIV, WoW, CoD, Titanfall, Need for Speed, go to the supermarkt, drive back home from work, come across people on the street, etc. You will always come across a few bad apples. The only thing you can do is not let them apples ruin your fun and enjoyment.
There are plenty of people in Eorzea who play for the sake of relaxation, fun and excitement, but will not lose sight of the newer / less experienced player base in the process. There are people, like myself who love to help our fellow adventurers. Take time to explain things. Teach them things like class/job skill rotations, dungeon mechanics, and more.
The most important thing when playing an MMO is that you play it at your own pace while having fun in the process. It’s up to you to determine what your pace is and what you consider to be fun, exciting, challenging, etc.
There are several ways to meet people in game and people both in game and on the forums will suggest to look for like minded people in Free Companies and Linkshells. While those 2 features are important, do not underestimate the power of spontaneous acts/communication.
There are quests in the Main story line that require you to do solo, but the world is filled with Side quests, Levequests, Treasure Hunts, Guildhests, FATE’s and other forms of content you can do with multiple people. Just walk around and keep a look out for people who seem to be doing the same thing you’re doing. Ask them if they want to join you in quest (side quest or guildleve), maybe do a FATE or two, go farm for some crafting materials with a gathering class or craft some random stuff.
Even the smallest things can be fun when done with more than 1 person. Especially if it’s just for the fun of it.
You can even use the Party finder to create parties for these things. Give it a go. Create a party in the Party Finder where you will do several Guildleve’s for fun. Even if it is just for 2 people.
If you ever find yourself on Sargatanas, feel free to /poke me. I’m usually busy with something, but i’m always up for a laugh or to answer a question. (^_~ )
