Creating your own static is an MMO skill too. It amazes me how so many complain about the game with the argument "I can't progress", meanwhile he has friends considering quitting too. Make a group with your "friends"?

18 hours for 1 atma, let me guess. You log in, it doesn't drop after an hour, you quit. Next day, same story, well doh? xD

Back to the "I can't progress" part. It might be a server thing.. If you want to switch servers, make a character first and ask people things you'd like to know or /tell several FC leaders if they are recruiting and what their progress is.

It's what I did, from Coeurl to Odin. Coeurl wasn't dead, but it's an American server. Im gmt +1, so it looked dead to me.

If it makes you feel better, I beat Titan with a PF group. We DID take more than one hour to beat it (we had a 5~10m break after 1h) and even tho we wiped lots in the beginning, we were commited to finally beat him... which we did in the end, we had 5 ppl left alive.

But yeah, T5 is a bit harder to find a group..... =\

I have one friend who I talk to, who is going to quit. He has a busy schedule. I don't actually know many people. I had two other friends but they quit a few months ago.

If the drop rate for Atmas is random, it shouldnt matter if I put in an hour here and there to grind for them. Im discouraged from logging in and staying more than an hour (because my time IS limited) and the times I have stayed on for 1-3 hours I've gotten literally nothing done besides a few dungeon runs.

Before you go any further, Why WOULD you want to invest time in something, which you cannot commit time for? The book phase will take longer than the atma phase, even in some of the worst scenarios people have already experienced and shared.

Is it because the weapon will make you viable in 2nd coil? Zenith is already viable there. People were clearing T9 before hardly any Animus weapons were completed.

If you are doing it for completion, maybe you need to carve out more time. Not EVERYTHING will be accessable to casual players, if it were there would be MANY more people with over 5000 in achievement scores, which was possible even before 2.1...

Can I also suggest the job specific forum for probably better info. People are usually very helpful over there. Why not also join a FC to get past those fights?
Seriously I do understand how you feel because I'm literally in the same boat right now.
I don't have a FC but I'm sure in a group that content would be manageable.
Right now I don't have the time for a static group kind of gameplay so on my shorter play sessions I advance my atma quest and slowly am building my gear to be coil worthy.

Also I'm kinda worried about my War skills because Garuda EX is no joke. I'm trying also to just read up info on the finer points of my Job to be more useful when I try the Garuda EX again.

To make the response short, highest pop =/= the "server for you", entirely. Most servers will all contain their fair share of elitest, selective, or otherwise douche baggery grade of players. Lets say you go to some huge server. You try to join an endgame raiding FC. They request some pre-reqs you can't fit or don't feel comfortable with. Maybe they want you to level up subs for Xclass, and if you don't, they won't accept you for endgame. Maybe they are full on DRG, and since you don't want to level another class, that places you at an instant disadvantage. A simple truth is that DPS are dime a dozen. Not everyone would openly armed accept a DPS simply because, well, they're a DPS. Without the option of flexibility, many people would simply shrug over you, honestly. It is admirable to want to dedicate EVERYTHING to one focus, but it will massively limit your options in this game. So your DRG is your main, maybe make a tank to i90 quick enough, which takes maybe a week, or two, if you focus at it. It isn't T6+ grade, but it would give you options for running current content easier, and give you a farming class. Just an option for your problems.

I'm stuck on this content too (but not quitting any time soon). I try to pug Garuda EX nearly daily (DF mainly), but the issue is that people give up too early. It's a fun fight and most of the responsibility falls on the shoulders of the tanks really.
I joined my first T5 learning party yesterday, we didn't get past conflags but at least I got to learn something.
Don't give up, and don't feel awkward about creating your own party if needs be.
Pass the time by grinding atma its an awful task but I'm doing books now and they are actually fun to clear.

I'm running into the same problem as you, every FC I join it either they are too casual, different time zone, or they already have their own static and would not invite one into their static. If I get lucky, one of their Static is not on I get to fill in, but it not what I really want. Most Party Finder I find are practice or keep failing repeatedly or elitist who ask to link weapons, 2 death you will be kick and replaced. This kind of group still failed.

I have clear T5 already, was lucky to finally find a good group, but it still frustrating because I don't have a Static or FC to do it with. The other problem I have run into is that people I used to know that do Turn 5 together, some of them have become Elitist and an Ass when they able to down it and have their own static. They would kick me without thinking a second if their static is on and that person is either same job as me or after the same loot. I guess this situation does not make it any better and I find myself playing less and less.
