Memorizing a series of steps and rules is not a game.
It's a mindless task that most kids would jump through hoops to get away from in school.
Old MMOs had fights that required strategy, planning, and skill.
This MMO requires memorizing a sequence, repetitive spamming of the same few abilities, and goodluck with server lag
The only fun in this is "figuring out" the fight.
Since you can't figure out "alternative strategies" since there really aren't any.

Are we talking about easy straight forward dungeons or real end game?In all honesty, the over dramatic thought of wiping for "hours" is part of the problem. Think about it for a bit. If the player can't figure out the mechanics of a generic dungeon fight after a few wipes (which isn't anywhere near a single hour), even with the help of party members, chances are a video would not have helped prevent the multiple wipes/deaths.
As an aside, I always try to use my tank "power" for good. If I see the new player alert on dungeons even I have run 100 times. I will offer that person the option of whether they want to do a straight run, or get all the loot. I even go as far as to ask whether they want to fight the bosses blind, or get some advice. I run all my dungeons this way. I guess I would like the same consideration in return. But maybe I am expecting way too much from most.
Don't take it personally, just don't put up with it. Especially if it's your group just kick them, black list them and find 2 new DPS. DPS are dime a dozen in this game, and the vast majority of them I find to be well mannered (probably because they're easily replaced). Do yourself a favor and don't put up with jerks.I've really never enjoyed playing any game like it's a job. And trust me, the majority of the time, I do team up with like minded players. An instance of what I spoke about was a HM primal, where we only needed to pick up two DPS, to complete the party. I informed them I was new, and they ripped into me without even a seconds pause.
Our party offered them the chance to leave, which they refused and just continued to hurl abuse. While I brushed it off and we eventually got there. I was very taken aback by the whole situation.
Personally will be trying to team up a full party from here on out. It just worries me that, this is what mmo gaming has become.
Just because they make it easy for people to join together doesn't mean the design is bad. Square is making some really cool encounters. If your going to hop into a duty, you should know whats going on.
Why not just make a party in party finder and explain in your comment that you are new to the dungeon and would like to find 3 others that are new to the dungeon or would like to help. At least then you would have a party that would be more understanding and helpful.
But when it comes to roulette or Duty Finder, that is just a roll of the dice that nobody can help with.

I dunno, it's bad to me if 90+ percent of the player base has to watch videos in order to stand a chance to beat something or wipe for weeks or so. Except for the extreme hardcores of course.
Its a custom now, a strange one, but a custom none the less.
I never feel like I really feel all that accomplished since its just me following directions from a video.
I see it as cheating, in other games there's no way i'd look at a how-to unless I failed it many many times over.
But oh well, other people seem to like it.
I'll be honest, I've never watched a video for any fight in this game and I've managed to nail down the healing in every one so far without issue.
Only one I went to a learning party for was turn 5
Everything else I just managed to pick up after 1 or 2 fights and skimming over the steps on reddit.
It's a lot more fun to "discover" a fight as it goes on, rather than watch how to beat it and repeat it.
If you really don't want to wipe people you can just read the key mechanics on reddit, and avoid most "fight spoilers"
