Lv50 loot shouldn't be tradeable for GC Seals.

The most egregious example was a CT run earlier.

Guy has a HQ i90 crafted belt. The i80 belt drops. He Needs.
- The belt is unsellable
- The belt is not Convertible to materia
- The belt cannot be used for Glamours
- The belt cannot be traded for GC Seals that I know of
- He didn't say he needed it for retainer
- He obviously wasn't using it, as it was strictly inferior to what he was wearing

He literally Needed ONLY for the sake of Needing, and outright said as much. One or more players could've put it to use now or in the future with that class. I got vote dismissed for calling him out on it.That's the kind of behavior this causes. Greed, pettiness, hostility. Nothing good comes of this, it makes the game more antisocial, it makes players less cooperative, it discourages altruism and sharing.

It's a sad day when I have to point to the WOW community as being better and friendlier on a subject, but that is so when it comes to this.

I think people who try to force other people to pass because they want the gear are the ones who create more problems, really. Sometimes they are with a friend that keeps trying to help to force people to pass. Nobody has to justify his rolling to anybody. The: "I want it more than you do", or "I deserve it more than you do", or "My friend really really wants it" are nonsense.

My view: if you need it for any reason, press need even if someone says he has been waiting for 7 years and wants it very very much more than you. If you don't need it but just want it, greed, if you don't care about it, pass.

If someone says he needs an item I wouldn't roll need unless I needed it, of course. (And not for sale at GC.)

I usually never need at the high level dungeons, but I usually greed unless I don't want the item. And I think most people don't roll need for items they don't need, just for sale. Many people don't even care to roll greed.

CT and Coil 1 without the weekly limit are much less hard places to obtain loot as they used to be.

The OP stated the person had a crafted i90 belt, ie would be better than the CT belt. They both would be useable by the same classes.

Also, plenty of people will need an item for Seals. This is pure greed however, since you can almost guarantee everyone in the group needs seals for something. Yet one person can take it from others due to being able to need. The need button is meant to be there for people who are going to use the item, be it on their current class, vanity or even a retainer. It's going to be a unique use for that person, not generic like seals which everyone in the group can use it for.

I only do this on bray hm 2 boss speed runs cuz if you wait too long during normal runs in any dungeon, it\\'ll most likely time out and make the item be distributed to whoever rolled on it.
In bray hm speed runs if a whm can holy like 6+ times on 1st group while keeping up tank and then proceed to dps stone 2, aero1 and aero 2 during the whole boss fight.Then put up a stoneskin right after and using holy again 5-6+ times on 2nd pull and dpsing 2nd the whole time. Doing all this without any " please wait i need mp" or any mp issue excuses should entitle us healers to more dirty ways of obtaining the loot lol.
Sure waiting it out seems lame but if the other ppl wanted the loot they\\'d stick around and wait for it/ tell me to roll.
