If you don't want to buy a clock for your desk...
And you don't want run in windowed mode so you can use Windows' clock...

How about launching FFXIV via Steam? Its free, works with fullscreen mode and you can push SHIFT+TAB to see the time.

With everything that's changing in FFXIV, I wouldn't really want the developers wasting time to add something that's so easy to find another solution to and is, for most people, just going to take up screen real-state.

It does? I couldn't get it to work before unless I had it in windowed mode.

I use Steam too when I want to browse the interwebs while on Fullscreen. You can have Performance + Clock + Screenshots with F12 + Browsing the Web.

It's pretty convenient, if you ask me =)

I'll hafta give it another try then, 'cause I loves me some Steam overlay. ^_^

This thread is the perfect example of 3rd party add-ons to come later down the line. Once SE starts supporting & allowing us to modify the GUI, it would be cool to see little things like this popping up.

    Community Reps:

Does the Dev. Team still want to support user add-ons at some point?

I tried it for a while but I still kept hitting ALT+TAB when I wanted to browse the web so I went back to windowed mode with a resolution the same size (near enough) as my screen. I have the task bar at the bottom and a few pixels at the top but nothing major.

You know you can script in full screen windowed mode, right?

A clock on the screen wouldn't be a bad thing. Convenience and that's it. I highly doubt that the work needed to put a clock on the screen would take that much time (seeing as how the info is already there, and they should have some type of model/object for widgets, etc..)

Yeah it should be fairly painless as the foundation is already there, just a matter of having the text string that shows the game time, alternately show the real time, which is information that FFXIV already obtains (as seen by /clock). It would be nice to not have to run some larger application like XFire or Steam just for a clock on a game (and as I said, when the PS3 version comes out, we wont have that option). Its just one of those things that would make me love FFXIV more, and I hope they add it. Or at the very least, as someone said, allow for user UI mods.
