That's really sad when you read that. When will people stand up and question his dissension in front of him? Why hasn't any game website done a news article about this?

Pretty much this. Any major design philosophy overhaul will only happen during expansions. Until then, people will have to suck it up, play, and wait it out...or unsubscribe and see what happens.

He also said that you can consider you fellow player(s) as NPCs. So if RPG elements are useless stuff, and he wants you to not think of this as an MMO, what are we left with?

I for one was not bitchy about FFXI pre Aby Sea. I never went on the forums at all.

I was on forums, allakhazam forums, was not much of any bitching about the game going on around there. Never was on S-E FFXI forums though, but that might have been because they didn't exist for the longest time.

Back on topic: My first Tam-Tara in beta, loved the design and seeing the Dullahan, (was sad they changed it) My first time doing an HQ in a craft, My first Toto-rak dungeon, My first Titan norm fight ( Fell off the edge that breaks off like a goof with my bf on our first run lol ;-; ), My first time kicking the tail feathers out of Garuda norm before timer ticked out, Beating Titan HM, Doing my first coil/cad healing, Having a Valentines hide and seek event with my old FC, Beating a 8-stacked Cad for the first time in a party ( Totally nerve wrecking ;-; ), Getting my last Atma (Awwwwyea) and theres moreeeee but yeah these are some memories I had in FFXIV! :x


(I'm proud of all the fun/excitement I had and I wouldn't change these memories ever.)

Edit: OH WAIT MY FIRST CANCER FIGHT, Too good to not mention here. People died so much fighting Cancer for the first time, there were sooooo many players fighting him. (The group I had played with in the beta fought him till the servers shut off, I was so jelly because I got off and missed it) Most of them died next to each other and some took screenies, it was really fun.

I have plenty of memories. Maybe you're being too selective? For me, it's:

1) The airship cut-scene
2) My first dungeon
3) Beating each turn in Coils for the first time. Even turn 3
4) Buying a house with my Free Company and seeing everybody work together to decorate it
5) Bringing down each EX primal for the first time
6) Seeing Coerthas for the first time in ARR and how much it's changed compared to the rest of the zones in 1.0
7) Getting my animus


These are just some of my memories. I may be wrong, but maybe you just haven't joined the right FC or met the right people. I know I would be playing a whole lot less if I have not met certain people in the game to make FFXIV more enjoyable.
